Like both!

Clara I think is beautiful, works all through the ages.

Annabel I think is lovely, but not sure it works so well on an adult. Anyone know any?

Sibling is Elodie

Or any more suggestions?

Clara goes best with Elodie but Anabel is prettier. I prefer the sp Anabelle, though.
Anabel reminds me of baby bel

Annabel is indeed much prettier, it goe well with Elodie, another pretty name.

Difficult choice, I like both! Probably Clara just in front, but only by a whisker.

I know a lovely, adult Annabel, name spelt exactly this way. Annabel is a great name, as is Clara, but Annabel has the edge IMO!

fearfultrill Wed 14-Feb-18 10:55:06

Annabel definitely! And that spelling is fine on an adult. Clara seems a bit dated to me.

Lots of nickname variations too:

Anna
Annie
Bel
Bella

I know several lovely grow up Annabels and I really like the name. Also, if your daughter preferred, she could easily be known as Anna, or Bel, or even Bella. Great choice.

Clara, less of a mouthful. Annabel is fine for an adult though if you really love it.

Clara

Both pretty names although Annabelle has the edge for me (although with the extra l) as without it reminds me of baby bel.
More nn options with Annabelle too, especially love Bella.

Belindabauer Wed 14-Feb-18 11:26:41

Both lovely names how about Clara Annabelle?

MammieBear Wed 14-Feb-18 11:28:09

Annabel

Love Clara. But wouldn't use them both together-Aren't they Thomas the tank engine's carriages? That's what they make me think of anyway.

NinjagoNinja Wed 14-Feb-18 11:41:27

I love both. You'll have to have another daughter so you can use both. They work well together.

To those posters discussing the spelling:

Anabel or Anabell just wrong.
Annabelle is frilly

Annabel is correct.

Belindabauer Wed 14-Feb-18 11:41:45

Villa- Clarabel is from Thomas the Tank, not sure about Annabel.
Though I'm sure lots of people have a Thomas and a James.

villamariavintrapp Wed 14-Feb-18 11:48:21

Ah yes it's Annie and clarabel!

TulipsInABlueVase Wed 14-Feb-18 13:01:45

Most definitely Clara. It's lovely.

Annabel reminds me of Baby Annabel and seems like a toddler's name. I can't imagine an adult Annabel.

I also think that Clara sounds better with Elodie.

Queenofthedrivensnow Wed 14-Feb-18 13:36:55

I have an Elodie. I pick Clara I love it

Aurea Wed 14-Feb-18 13:40:33

My name is Annabel Joy but my friends often call me Annie.

AnyaMoondial Wed 14-Feb-18 16:23:18

I know an adult Annabel, she is professional and sophisticated and her name suits her well. Personally I prefer just Anna though.

Twickerhun Wed 14-Feb-18 16:47:44

Is your DHcalled Thomas?
Aren’t they the names of Thomas the tank engines carriages?

user1459464195 Wed 14-Feb-18 17:48:15

Both are great. I like the spelling of Annabel but find Annabelle overly frilly.

Clarabel is actually a great, underused alternative. Or Christabel might also appeal?

Redpramlady Wed 14-Feb-18 20:00:48

Thanks all! Haha! No husband isn't Thomas
I'm liking Clara annabel thou!
Middle name was going to be Anne (Obv this works best with Clara would have to rethink for annabel)

SuperBeagle Wed 14-Feb-18 22:03:40

Clara.

I have an irrational dislike of Annabel. Probably owing to the fact that all of the Annabels I've known have been awful people.

pipilangstrumpf Wed 14-Feb-18 22:18:52

The problem with Annabel is that people often misspell it: Anabell, Annabell, Annabelle, Anabelle

Clara is simple and pretty.
