Still struggling, girls name

Posted before a couple of timea. DH is still completely indecisive about girls name and now I'm feeling undecided too. We had agreed upon Katherine but he's gone off it. He's coming round to some earlier suggestions. Any thoughts on these? Would you like/hate to be called any of them?

Zoe
Matilda
Cleo
Helena (love but worry people would mispronounce)
Juliet
Lara

For middle name, open to suggestions, we also like Zara and Sophie but can't use for first name. Sophia is out as clashes with surname.

Love Matilda and Helena. How do you want Helena pronounced.
If you want Hel-en-a then the above spelling is fine. If you want He-lay-na
I'd spell it Helaina. I also like Lana as pose to Lara.
I'm not thrilled about your other names

Lara’s my favourite name (it’s my dd!); I also like cleo from your list- I don’t dislike any of them, actually,

Oops sorry Blush

What I was trying to say there was that you have a very nice list & I'd be happy to be called any of them.

Fab list, I like them all. I have a friend who is a Helena and it does get mispronounced (Hel-ay-na rather than Helen-a), but I love it anyway and it wouldn't put me off. My personal favourite is Lara, followed by Juliet, Zoe and Helena. All fab names and none are that commonly used, but all instantly recognisable (the holy grail of names Grin).

What about just Helen if you're worried that people won't know how Helena should be pronounced? It's a name that has been popular for generations but is rarely used for babies now. I love Katherine too.

We have just named our gorgeous week old girl Cleo and have had so many compliments on her name, funnily enough a lot of friends have said they would love to be called Cleo. We chose it because it’s feminine without being too long and frilly and has a classic, vintage feel without being overused.
My own name is one of the other names on your list too! Smile

Zoe: a bit boring but fine

Matilda: lovely but massively popular.

Cleo: I prefer Clea or Clio. Cleo is too "Cleopatra" imo.

Helena (love but worry people would mispronounce): Love it. I'd like to be a Helena.

Juliet: Nice!! I prefer Julia but I wouldn't mind being a Juliet.

Lara: Lovely.

Helena, Lara and Juliet are great imo.

DD is Juliet, if I have another girl she'll be Lara

Thanks for all the replies. I do like the whole list which is good at least. We actually have an Anna aged 4 so odd that Anna should be suggested! Wary of mentioning dd1 in original post in case it is outing!
I think we can probably rule Katherine out as dh has gone off it although I do think it goes very well with Anna :-(
Thinking maybe Zoe is not as pretty sounding as Anna so perhaps not that.
With Cleo, I think we would spell it this way despite Clio being more historically appealing, because a) I think people are more likely to address cards etc to Cleo and it's the more obvious spelling b) Clio is also the car

I like Matilda but my one concern is with nicknames...not keen on Mattie or Tilly at all, although Tilda is ok.
Leaning towards Cleo (Cleo Juliet or Cleo Sophie?) Or Lara (Lara Juliet?/Lara Matilda?)

Clara is nice,

Or I think Eliza goes well with Anna.

Both nice names but we wouldn't use Clara as a close friend has used it. Eliza also lovely but sounds wrong with our surname

Julia is an alternative to Juliet.

Leonie - similar to cleo and very pretty

Anna is nice (not that you were asking for opinions on her name!

Shame about Katherine. Nice and Kate is a good option

I also like Laura, Esther and Louisa, particularly Louisa, dh once again isn't keen though Hmm. We have an Esther in the family so wouldn't use that.
