Baby No4 name

3boysandababyontheway · 21/01/2018 06:01

I have 3 boys already and pregnant with baby no4. Gender is unknown.
We have got a girls name in mind but just wondered what others thought of the name Esson for a boy 🤔 My husband is set on the name but I'm just not too sure.
We already have an Innes, Blair and Lyle.
Thoughts?

I'm not convinced either, for three reasons:

Have you tried saying 'Innes and Esson'? It's a bit of a mouthful.

Aside from that, I'm not aware of it as a name whereas the other three names are certainly not common but are known names.

And it makes me think of the German town whose name I've only heard of as Britain bombed it during the war.

It's maybe not a "name" but it is a surname. I have thought about Innes and Esson together and it is certainly a mouthful. I think my husband has his heart set on Esson but if I find another name I might manage to persuade him that it's not a good choice.

Don't like it, sorry. How about Evan, Ethan, Ezra or Ewan?

Not a fan , sorry OP.

Thanks everyone. You have all confirmed what I was thinking. Any ideas for us? Really struggling this time for a boys name. As mentioned we already have Innes, Blair and Lyle. We are Scottish so possibly something along those lines.
Sorry ChocolateCrunch... I don't like any of those names.
We do like names which are uncommon.

Love Ezra as suggested^^.

Euan is another nice Scottish name, to go with your boys’, )but I know two horrible Euans, which obviously would put you off the name Wink).

I do think I like Struan but just wonder if it is too Scottish... if that's such a thing. I quite like Arran. Hamish is a definite no for us. Ewan however is quite nice. I've never heard of Oren.
Why is this so difficult 😣 I didn't have this much trouble naming my 3 boys.

I love Cameron but my next door neighbours son is called Cameron (although he's in his 20s) I do also quite like Callum and I have been toying with Keir.

Essen means 'eating' in German - I'd avoid it'll come up a lot particularly if he does German at school and he can never go or live in Germany - imaging a German person coming to the U.K. called 'drinking' .... weird!

Cameron and Keir were on our boys name list too, as was Munro and Tate - I liked Hunter but DH didn't and really wanted a Scottish name so we settled on Cameron

Murdo? Murder 😂

You might like unusual names but your child might prefer Robbie, Scott or Dave 😂

Think of Zowie Bowie..doesn’t he call himself Jo.
When I saw Esson, I thought of the oil company Exxon that calls itself Esso in this country I think.
My mother had a horrible name. Hated it all her life. Thank god she gave me something I could live with.
