for a boy...

LovingLola Fri 12-Jan-18 19:07:14

Not a fan.

ReggaetonLente Fri 12-Jan-18 19:07:49

It's the name of our well loved local hospice.

If you're in Essex, or ever likely to be, I wouldn't because of that connotation.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar Fri 12-Jan-18 19:08:35

That really isn't a name...

Candyandpop Fri 12-Jan-18 19:09:31

Pronounced in the same was as Farley biscuits?

Cupcakegirl13 Fri 12-Jan-18 19:10:10

It's a surname

PsychoPumpkin Fri 12-Jan-18 19:10:12

That’s a Rusk, is it not?

MikeUniformMike Fri 12-Jan-18 19:11:18

Awful sorry. Farley is better but makes me think of rusks or Charley Farley.
The -leigh ending would make people think it was a girl's name.

k2p2k2tog Fri 12-Jan-18 19:11:24

And not a name.

dontbesillyhenry Fri 12-Jan-18 19:12:02

Utterly ridiculous please don't

viques Fri 12-Jan-18 19:12:54

Psycho I was just going to say as long as your surname isn't Rusk ! Or indeed as long as there isn't a sibling called Harley, or Marley, or even Charlie.

scotsmumof1 Fri 12-Jan-18 19:14:03

personally not a fan, but what about Harley?

backformore Fri 12-Jan-18 19:16:22

Ok, then! Was thinking after the wood engraver, John Farleigh. But yes, it was his surname.

DustyMaiden Fri 12-Jan-18 19:20:02

Yes it’s a hospice

Shadow1986 Fri 12-Jan-18 19:24:33

Thought if rusks straight away sorry

TroysMammy Fri 12-Jan-18 19:25:00

The Two Ronnies characters Charlie Farley and Piggy Malone.

Pickleshickles Fri 12-Jan-18 19:25:33

I know a little Farley. First thought on hearing it was "rusk"

DullAndOld Fri 12-Jan-18 19:26:36

Farley's rusks?

Also the name of a Rottweiler that bit me.

Not good.

treaclesoda Fri 12-Jan-18 19:28:05

My first thought was of Farley Jackmaster Funk. Sorry.

IHaveBrilloHair Fri 12-Jan-18 19:29:30

No, don't.

FreddieClaryHorshieLion Fri 12-Jan-18 19:32:35

I like Farley. smile

Julie991 Fri 12-Jan-18 19:36:09

Please don't ! He'll be nicknamed "Fartleigh" by the end of fist day at school .

BunloafAndCrumpets Fri 12-Jan-18 19:48:56

I used to live in a East Farleigh in Kent, least friendly place and pub I've ever encountered. So it's a no from me!

AuntieStella Fri 12-Jan-18 19:50:58

Charley Farley and Piggy Malone....

Better than a rusk, I suppose

SwinginFromTheChandelier Fri 12-Jan-18 19:51:22

Just No.... Rusks pop to mind!grin
