So I am due to go in for a C Section to have my little boy on Monday but we haven't decided on a name yet.
We have a little girl already called Isla.

Our shortlist of boys names are
Noah
Jacob
Edward (Eddie)
Joseph
Elliot
Lenny

I'd appreciate people's thoughts on these names please.

Noah is number one in the most popular boys name!

From your list I like Jacob and Edward.

Do you like Jonah?

Intercom Thu 11-Jan-18 08:23:01

I like Joseph, Jacob and Edward best.

WhereIsBlueRabbit Thu 11-Jan-18 08:23:39

I like Noah, Jacob, Joseph and and Edward. Less keen on Elliott and don't like Lenny (sorry!).

Joseph is definitely my favourite.

Think about short forms as well - would you be happy with Joe, Jake, Ed or Teddy? Once they're at school you might have less control over what people call them grin

Good luck for your section!

Oh, and I'd say Noah is very popular at the moment so it might date, if that's something which concerns you (it may not). Joseph, Edward and Jacob are more timeless, in my opinion.

I really like Jacob.

Lotsalotsagiggles Thu 11-Jan-18 08:27:24

Isla and Jacob or Jake is lovely together

KatnissK Thu 11-Jan-18 08:57:30

I like Noah - I have only met one little Noah despite its popularity. I also like Edward.

NoCureForLove Thu 11-Jan-18 08:58:39

Lenny!

SuperBeagle Thu 11-Jan-18 09:01:13

I love Edward and Joseph. smile

Good luck!

Edward and Jacob are lovely. The others okay, apart from Lenny, which makes me wonder wtf you're thinking?! grin

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag Thu 11-Jan-18 09:07:48

Edward or Jacob.

I was looking at ONS names though and I think, in England, Jacob is more popular than Noah, but maybe I’ve got that wrong..? I still prefer Jacob as I think Noah will date, due to sudden surge in popularity. Jacob is more of a constant classic to me.

MrsMcW Thu 11-Jan-18 09:09:01

Edward or Joseph, definitely. Although I'd shorten Edward to Ted, really not keen on Eddie and the reason we're not considering it for our DS!

MammieBear Thu 11-Jan-18 09:22:09

Noah goes best with Isla

ChocolateCrunch Thu 11-Jan-18 09:41:51

I like Noah the best, followed by Elliot

ButterflyOfFreedom Thu 11-Jan-18 09:45:44

My favourite is Joseph but I think Noah & Isla sound lovely together!

Sugarpiehoneyeye Thu 11-Jan-18 11:29:40

Isla and Joseph.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Thu 11-Jan-18 11:31:20

All lovely except Lenny.

I love Joseph but you would need to be prepared for Joe.

greendale17 Thu 11-Jan-18 11:32:31

I like Jacob or Edward.

Lenny is awful

n0ne Thu 11-Jan-18 11:55:27

I like Joseph and Edward. Leonard is nice but not Lenny.

8mileeminem Thu 11-Jan-18 14:40:20

Lenny

MiraclesDoHappen82 Thu 11-Jan-18 15:17:15

I like the name Jonah bamymammy but the meaning of the name puts me off.
Thank you for responses.
Our favourites are Edward, Jacob, Joseph and Noah.
Nice to see how many like the name Edward, it used to be such an old fashioned name that was hardly used for a long time but I think it is becoming more popular again.

MrsTiggyWinkle3 Thu 11-Jan-18 15:55:30

Elliot and Eddie are by far my favourites.

Buntysoven Fri 12-Jan-18 01:06:54

Joseph is my favourite

Noah - Lovely name but so SO popular. Also I don't think it goes with Isla, it's too similar.

Jacob - An okay name, and Jake is a nice nickname. Jacob is a little boring imo.

Edward (Eddie) - Good name. Traditional and strong. An Edward could be whatever he wants, you can't really judge someone based on that name.

Joseph - Dated, boring, meh.

Elliot - This was the name I wanted to use for ages, but what put me off is that it's getting popular for girls now. Also people often misspell it with two t's and that'd be annoying.

Lenny - Just makes me think of The Simpsons. Maybe go with Leonard and nickname him Lenny.
