Is this on a par with Keith? I can't make my mind up if it's a bit different and cool or just really boring!!!

I must add DH is Scottish and we'd love to use a name of Scottish origin

No. A keith is 40-55 and a douglas is 55-70 so Douglqs bound to sound more fashiinable. It was on my list 15 years ago tho

I love it. I really like Dougie (pn Duggie) as a nickname too.

I'd have had Douglas for a boy. It's really nice and has nicknames that kind of grow with it. We're Scottish too.

Dougie is officially super cool and amazing since Twin Peaks season 3 came out. True fact! Grin

Before I even opened this thread I thought :
No way, it's right up there with Barry and Keith. Grin

I think Douglas is cute. Keith is awful though. (Apologies to any DMs of little Keiths out there.)

I have a 2yo Douglas (nn Dougie). It’s a great name. Everyone recognises it/knows how to spell it, but it’s fairly uncommon.

First reading this, I was going to comment that it's awful. Doug is a dog's name.

However, I just saw someone mention Dougie. I think this could be quite cute. I don't like Douglas though. Isn't there a Dougie in McFly?

I only know one, in his mid twenties, and he’s lovely! I think it is both cute and elegant. I really like it. Definately not “like Keith.”

I remember hearing of a little Doug (Douglas) about 8 years ago and wondering what possessed his parents as its clearly a Keith or Gary type name.

I was wrong, it's lovely and not in the same league at all! Also love Gregor or Gregory which feel similar.
