Hello all, me and the hubby have been talking about what to name our third child, my dds are called Evangelica and Greta; but we want the third baby to have a more unique name.. lol. For a girl we have considered something like India or Samantha, and a boys to be something like Timmy or lil' something ( all the kids love lil' pump so I think it would be appropriate)
Please tell me all your wonderful stories and let me know what you think. Lol xxxxx

Thank you for all the wonderful comments. Why is the Lil name not the best idea? I'd love to hear why x

The ‘lil’ idea is not a good idea because it’s absolutley fucking dreadful, and to be honest I’m judging you for even considering it.

If I heard someone had the name lil I would assume their parents were twats and they would inevitably grow up go be a twat also.

Don't be twat.

A) Samantha & India are not unique - although India is a lovely name

B) Lil' are you kidding?! I doubt you would be allowed to even register a baby with a name like that to be honest. You do realise that Lil'Wayne etc. Are rappers and those are their stage names?! Not the names they were given by their parents??

Think of the child explaining that name all their life. Sad

Unique or retro? Unique means its the only one, so a made up name.

If retro then Timmy is perfect, I also suggest Susan and Richard.

If you like the meaning of lil' and you like Timothy, how about Tiny Tim? It sounds more British than lil' pump.

There's also lil' mechanism for a boy (l'mech for short) and lil' device for a girl. Alternatively for a more modern take, instead of using lil', how about lol?

I think Evangelica (and probably Greta too) is far more unique that Samantha and India. Samantha is perhaps fairly unusual for a child now, though it was very popular in the 80s and 90s. I've never heard the name Evangelica before in fact.

Along the same kind of lines, how about:
Adrielle, Alyona, Amberley, Arianne, Averil, Alexandrina, Andromeda, Amabelle, Bernadette, Benjamina, Cressida, Coraline, Clarice, Christabel, Delphi, Desdemona, Danika, Eugenie, Electra, Elisaveta, Fionnhuala, Fenella, Fabienne, Fabia, Frederika, Giovanna, Graciella, Henriette, Hannelie, Isadora, Imelda, Ivanka, Jessamine, Jerica, Josephina, Jonquil, Jacinta, Jolita, Katinka, Karensa, Karizma, Leonie, Lavinia, Lavender, Leandra, Mariella, Mirabelle, Melisande, Nerilly, Neriah, Octavia, Prunella, Phyllida, Rosina, Robina, Ramona, Rosabelle, Seraphina, Samaris, Samara, Samya, Tamika, Tansy, Taryn, Thalia, Ulrika, Vashti, Veda, Xanthippe, Zeryn

Boys - Confused Tiny Tim perhaps?!

I'm not really sure where you're going with the whole 'Lil thing. It's not something I've ever seen before. Presumably it means 'little' and is used in the same way some Americans use Jr?
I'd avoid Lil'Timmy because you will get people like me being facetious over Tiny Tim.
I don't like the idea at all but if you had to, then how about something one syabble so it kind of bends and becomes one name: Lil'Bob, Lil' James, Lil'John, Lil'Mark.

Like Timmy:
Tommy, Titus, Tod,
