I was Charly with the sh sound when I was little and Charl with the sh sound as a grown up.

My DP hated Lotte so I was never ever called it except by 1 ex and I kinda like it but now its too weird haha

You could also keep it long and see if an organic nn emerges

Names don't need a nickname! Charlotte is lovely just as it is.

I know of a Tottie, but it wouldn't be my choice.

My Charlotte is just charlotte. I quite like Lottie but not Charlie, Char etc. I don't think it needs abbreviating, got a lot of letters but only 2 syllables.

The only Charlotte I've ever known chose to be known as Shaz.

All the Charlotte's that I've known in my life have just gone as Charlotte. Occasionally, one of them was called Lott-Lott but they never had nicknames.

Same - Charlottes are just Charlotte in my experience. Love the name. Would have used it if someone in the family hadn't beaten me to it!

Charlotte doesn't need a nn it's nice as it is

If the child is already named, how about using a middle name instead? Lottie sounds a bit preposterous to me, and Charlie (along with other 'tomboy' type names) just sounds like the daughter of parents who would have preferred a boy. (Sorry if I'm projecting a bit...)

Why do you need a nickname? All the Charlottes I know are just called Charlotte.

Nicknames are usually something bestowed on children by their school friends, are they not?

Please don't shorten Charlotte.
