Clementine or clemency, Florentine or Florence

I posted few days ago on behalf of my best friend. She has since had baby two days ago. She originally announced the name as Clementine Florence but she rang me in tears today as she isn't sure that's what she wants to call baby! I said I would ask again in here.

Its a toss up between Clementine Florence or Clemency Florentine. Baby will be known as Clemmie. Grandma was Florencia but friend doesn't like that.

Meant to say grandma died during pregnancy very suddenly so friend wants to name baby after her.

Clementine Florence 100%

Personally I'd go for Clementine - but the names are so similar your friend just needs to pick the one she likes the most!
Especially if her DD is going to be known as Clemmie. It doesn't matter which one she picks - they are both equally nice.

Yep - Florentine just makes me think of biscuits or people from Florence! Clementine Florence.

Clementine Florence.

I love these names. Do not like the other combo at all.

Clementine Florence. Clemency makes me think of courts and sentencing people for crime (sorry). Florentine makes me think of biscuits. Also I find it quite harsh sounding.

What everyone else said.
Also in my experience it is totally normal to cry a lot 2 days after giving birth, and to worry madly, so give your friend lots of reassurance about everything not just names! It's those rollercoaster hormones!

Just to be different, Clemency is adorable and full of meaning and doesn't sound like a citrus fruit...

Clemency Florentine is really awful, really really bad.

It just has to be Clementine Florence if those are the only two options.

I never know if to pronounce Clementine as tyne or teen?
