Georgia looks like it was very popular about 15 years ago from what i can gather, but what about now? Is it a classic or has it had its day and is it now outdated? Do you like it?

I really like it! Would be on my list if we were having a girl smile

I know a few Georgias, all about 19 or 20 now. I've never liked the name. Georgia is an American state to me. I think Georgina is miles better.

It's lovely. All the ones round here are Jorja or Jeorgia though, which is not so lovely IMO!

Love it!

Beautiful, I know a Georgia who is the loveliest girl inside and out

I've always liked it. Probably more so now it's less common.

I like it and Georgie too

I think it's a classic name. My daughter's middle name is Georgette but I wanted her to be a Georgeva. They're all old classic names. hmm

OhforfucksakeFay Sun 03-Dec-17 11:45:53

I love it
Love Georgina too which I think is more classic

I like it a lot. Only met one in my life who is about 30 now.

Prefer Georgina, Georgie as a shortened version.
I like Georgia but detest Jorja.
2 friends have daughters called Georgina. One is Georgie and the other is Gina. Wasn't keen on the nn Gina, but she's pretty and cool and it suits her very well.

Love Georgina, classic name.

I really like it. I've only ever met one Georgia who would be 15 now. It's a sweet name

DramaAlpaca Sun 03-Dec-17 18:45:52

It's not a classic name.

It's the name of a country & an American state.

I don't like it at all, but I do like Georgina.

MadisonAvenue Sun 03-Dec-17 18:46:19

I used to like it but know a couple of Georgias (early 20s) who are full of themselves and were school bullies so it put me right off the name.

Movablefeast Sun 03-Dec-17 19:06:55

Drama I don't know about the history of the country but the American state was founded in 1733 as a British colony and was named for a British king, George II. Georgia has always been a classic feminization of George.
