Hello, hello, hello! My first thread and one about names, specifically the name, Olympia. My older children are Joseph Brooks, Annabeth Poppy, Dominic Jackson and Rosemary August. All my kids have at least one name that means lots to me, for example Joseph was my dad's middle name, Elizabeth is my MIL's name, Jack is my FIL's name and Rosemary is my mother's name although she always has gone by Molly. So, that gives you a little idea as to the type of names and little hints of family I like to use.
Olympia is a name I like because it is strong, unique and breaks up the fairly commonplace but utterly delicious Charlotte, which will be our daughter's first name. But, Charlotte's first name is quite clearly a hint to her great granddad's name Charlie which has been a lovely realisation and I would like to honor my own granddad as well as DH's. His name is Oliver but he has always been known as Oli so I was hoping I could get away with Olympia being a little reference to him but I don't always want to be explaining the connection and I don't want to leave him out.
Therefore, Charlotte Olivia or Charlotte Olympia?
