Our baby girl is due end of January and we cannot decide on a name!

We’ve narrowed it down to three!
Philippa “Pippa”
Matilda “Tilly”

Her middle name will be Faith.
Any thoughts on the first name? smile

Philippa. There are a lot of Mathilda around here. I think Pippa is lovely.

I know three adult Philippa’s and they all hate it though...

I love them all. Not helpful at all, sorry!

If I absolutely had to pick it would very marginally Verity.

Matilda Faith for me.

I don't like the two 'f' sounds in Philippa Faith, and I'd avoid the nickname Pippa because it doesn't travel well.

I'm not keen on Verity Faith either - having two virtue names would be a lot to live up to!

Matilda Faith.

Verity is rather "ferrety" to my ears, and I'm not a fan of Philippa at all.

Agree with PP that Verity Faith doesn't work.

Verity is really nice and underused.

Matilda. Phillipa faith doesn't sound right, like you can't say it without blowing raspberries and spitting everywhere or just saying fillipafaith. Verity to me sounds spoilt like verruca.

Philippa or Verity
Although if you're going to call her Pippa I'd just name her Pippa

I like Matilda but I dislike nicknames which are very different and have a different initial to the full name

I just think it's confusing for them at nursery and reception with their name on their peg and called by teacher being different unless you ask school to call by their nickname in which case the full name will hardly ever see the light of day

I have a friend who has called her daughter Penelope nn Poppy and she never ever gets called Penelope so I just don't see the point
Yes can change name to it when older but you can change your name to anything when older including a middle name

Anyway just my tuppence feel free to ignore!

Matilda by far.

Philly or Pippa are awful.
