It's an excellent name and I don't know anyone who watches Emmerdale!

Sienna in Hollyoaks has named her baby Sebastian to. It's quite well used now.

It’s not like it’s an unusual name that’s Emmerdale just invented-of course you can still use it!

Joinourclub · 13/11/2017 19:31

It's not a rare name, so I don't think anyone would think "emmerdale" when they heard it!

When I hear Sebastian I think brideshead. I'm sure it will be fine.

Report
Caulk · 13/11/2017 19:35

Soaps use it because it’s populat and people will be currently using it. It’s fine. Unless you’re obviously an actor on Emmerdale then use it.

I thought it was washing soap...

Use it anyway.

Sebastian is hardly as rare and distinctive as, say, "Copernicus", OP!!

Could be connected in many people's minds to many different Sebastians in the public eye, fictional or otherwise.
Round these parts, it's not unusual in RL.

Go ahead without any worries. Nice name. Smile

Sebastian is quite popular.

It was no. 36 here in Australia in 2016, making it more popular than George, Finn, Hugo, Louis and other names which seem to be everywhere at the moment!

But it's a lovely name, and you should use it anyway. Smile

I have no idea who Rebecca from emmerdale is! I think it’s fine.

That is only a problem if people watch and care about such utter shite like emmerdale and eastenders.

Never have watched, never will watch.

Another one who thinks Brideshead! And Sebastian Faulks. Not to speak of Sebastian Barry.
Emmerdale not even in my universe.
It's a lovely name, and quite classic, really.
