MN I need your help. Totally stumped for twin 2’s name. 2 girls on the way. We love Karis. What do you think goes with it?

Is that the same as Carys but with a different spelling?

In which case you might need another name with a different spelling than the usual one. Can’t think of one right now though!

Carys was on our list. I love Lois but OH hated it. Have a Nancy and this one will be Fern. Any good?

Carys is lovely. Karis sounds like a knock off Yaris.

Carys is the original version. So you could have a Welsh theme; Carys and Bronwyn maybe?

I’m a karis! Nice comment about the knock off Yaris, pp. 🙄😂 I love my name so I hope you find an equally lovely name for twin 2!

It can also be spelled "Charis".

Karis and Layla sounds really good.

Karis is a Greek name I think? So I think Karis and Sophia, Karis and Marina etc

Carys is beautiful - do like that better than Karis. Then you could have eg Carys and Seren?

Report
naymechaynger · 13/11/2017 00:15

As above - Seren. I have a Carys, if we’d had another DD she would have been Seren. Having said that, Karis and Layla sound great too!

Karis isn't a "Yaris knock-off" or playing fast and loose with "Carys"!

Karis - Greek phonetic of "Charis". Name origins: 'grace'. Three Muses-connected. Like Thalia...ahem. Grin

Carys - Welsh. Name origins: 'loved'
Both names and their meanings are beautiful, though.

OP,
Many congratulations on expecting twins! Flowers
If you want another Greek connection, girl's name Rhea ("flowing". Also, was Mother of The Gods) is nice.

RAY-uh is the authentic pronunciation, but I've heard REE-uh just as often.

Karis and Rhea?
