Inigo? And middle name suggestions?

We’re having a second boy and it was hard enough to choose our first’s name!

Quite a lot of boys names are vetoed by me as I’ve taught a lot of them (sorry!). Inigo (Jones) would have a lot of significance to us and I actually like the accidental link to indigo as I studied art.

Our son has a very common name and an unusual middle one (I wouldn’t have considered using the middle as a first name) but I do inigo - like nn Indy or iggy.

Thoughts? Middle name suggestions?! Last name has a single syllable.

I like it! Possibly will a short, more widely used middle name?

Love it. Was on our list. Are you Spanish?

Oh great - love Go Go!

Nope not Spanish, literally after Inigo Jones, which has meaning for us. And I love indigo, plus it’s a plant. And I’ll never have a baby girl now so bam go all my plant related names!

Dh probably is leaning towards it as a middle name. But then I’m stumped about the first name. And no idea what to do for a middle name for Inigo.

It’s also unusual and I’m unlikely to ever teach one!

(Jumps in)
Montoya!

Sorry, it had to be saidGrin.

As a more constructive comment, I think you should pair it with a very traditional English name with lots of consonants, like Matthew or Stephen.

Chose a nice traditional middle name that has meaning for you. Maybe a family name. Something like Inigo Joseph or Inigo William.

I can't believe it took so long. Why would you do that to a kid? People will forever be saying 'you killed my father. prepare. to die.' in a terrible accent.

I like Sebastian but there’s zero significance to us. I have a feeling it’ll end up a middle name :/

I'm 46. It's cult. All of my 46yo friends have seen it about 8 times. And my children drive me mad saying it all the time. (I only saw it myself last year after getting bored by everyone in the cosmiverse telling me how truly fabulous it was and not believing I had never seen it.)

other than that, it's a cute name. I just don't think i could do it lol. When the geek shops are still producing t shirts after 30 years, it isn't going anywhere. Grin
I'm buying that t shirt for ds1 for christmas. that's why the thread made me laugh. don't let any teenagers babysit your kids. Grin his first words will be 'prepare. to die.'
second thoughts. do it. that would be awesomesauce.

I’ve never heard of the references but I do like Inigo and only know one. I like Inigo Charles or Inigo William ... actually most traditional names for really well.

Ok mad, thing is, I don’t think it’s a terrible connection! Quite amusing. Any name can be linked to something. I know a Sabrina for example.

I know friends who would have seen it; at the same time they’ll know who Inigo Jones is so I guess it balances out.

We have time to mull on it, thanks for thoughts.

The Inigo I know is my nephew and he is nine. People do say the Inigo Montoya quote to him occasionally but only ever his parents' friends. Nobody his age has ever said it to him.

I love Inigo but you should probably see The Princess Bride before using it, if only to understand the endless jokes that he will get Smile
