I'm finding it really difficult this time to get some names I really like. Have a dd called Emily, and don't know if the new baby is a boy or a girl. Please someone give me some inspiration, it's starting to stress me out!

I've thought about it so much that I don't even know what I like any more, aarrgghhh! Hannah was on the list but I'm just so indecisive that I can't seem to settle on anything. I wasn't like this with my first.

I think it's pregnancy hormones, I was a bit like that.
I like family names or historical/literary figures for inspiration. Emily and Hannah sound nice together.

Hannah is a lovely name. It's an underused classic.

Sometimes if I'm stuck for ideas, I look at the meanings behind the names to give me inspiration. For instance, the meaning of Hannah is 'grace', which is a lovely meaning.

Other suggestions:
Grace
Daisy
Catherine
Clara
Lucy
Sophie
Phoebe
Hope

Ethan
Isaac (I know this name means 'laughter')
Noah
Benjamin
Freddie/Frederick
Theodore/Theo
Tobias
Sebastian
Oscar
Liam

If dh hadn’t vetoed both names then my kids would be Emily and Daniel.

I love both of those names but on balance decided that dh was just about nice enough to keep without them. grin

Hannah is lovely. Isabelle?

I am a bit the same about names like classic ones. Thomas and James, that type of thing.

kittytom Thu 02-Nov-17 23:40:55

so like classic ones...

Think of a quality or attribute you love or would like your child to have and then google the meaning ( double check)in your favourite language or culture. Keep a few names and when the baby arrives you will know which name is perfect .All the best.
