DD2... sister to Annabel.
I know they are both popular but I guess we like what we like Smile

I really like Ava.

I always think Zoe's a bit old fashioned/my generation (forties).

Zoe. I am biased though, DD is Zoe and she likes having a slightly unusual name.

Zoe.

I love Ava and I would have said Ava but I think Zoe goes will with Annabel

milkmoustache that's really interesting you said that re being unusual, where I am I am worried Zoe is becoming very 'common' (in the sense of being popular / not unusual)! Which doesn't bother me as I think it's just gorgeous!

Zoe. It's lovely and you'd avoid duplicating initials.

Zoe. I teach, there are a zillion Avas (and Eva), but have yet to teach a Zoe.

Zoe.

I like Ava but it’s more popular and I’ve always loved Zoe.

Ava. Zoe is horrid

Zoe. Ava is everywhere, she'll be one of several. Plus as someone with the same initial as my sibling, I think it's better for siblings to have different initials.

Zoe, I love Zoe, strong and simple and always cool to have a name that starts with a Z. Very few little Zoes at school round here, two at our large primary and none in my brownie pack in the last 5 years. There are lots and lots of Avas and Evas and Eves and Evies.

Zoe. Goes well with Annabel.

I like Ava but I wouldn't give children the same initial, especially not if they are the same sex. It's a minor thing but might get annoying to have post addressed to "Miss A Surname" and not know who it was for.

I prefer Ava, but do know loads of them. Zoe is nice too.

Ava for sure.

Can you believe the same initial as sibling thing hadn't even occurred to me! Blush such a good point!!

Zoe for me, but it’s my name so I’m biased - I love being a Zoe! Smile I think it’s more classic and will date better than Ava, which is mega popular at the moment (#5 in 2016, whereas Zoe was ranked ninety-something I think). Also avoids any confusion with two A initials.

I do come across the odd Zoe in the classes I teach, but it’s by no means one of the most common names at the moment.

I think I prefer Ava but only just - they're both lovely. Depends on whether you want them to have the same initial - you might prefer not to have to play guessing games about which Miss A Smith the letter is for when they're older (assuming people still send letters then Grin)

Zoe is my favourite.

Thanks everyone, your opinions much appreciated! Based on the initial thing, and the name Ava always being lumped with Eve/Evie in popularity, I think I'm leaning towards Zoe.
(I also just googled Ava with the middle name Lauren, as that's what we would have chosen.... let's just say it didn't end well and I think that probably solves that Grin )

Ava is number 4 in the charts so is actually far more popular than Evie(16)/Eva(30)/Eve (not even top 100!😱)
Zoe isn't top 100 either so go for that if you don't want popular :)
