This is for a second DD I don't yet have! Just met a Daphne recently and have been slightly obsessing over its loveliness. But don't know what connotations it has for others.

Frasier

Rainatnight Tue 24-Oct-17 13:10:48

Yesssss. Me too. Though trying to pretend not.

13luckyblackcats Tue 24-Oct-17 13:12:06

I love it! Know a 7 year old with sister Viola, just gorgeous.

PsychoPumpkin Tue 24-Oct-17 13:13:58

Love it but am thinking scooby doo.

But you know, she’ll own her name, it’s a beautiful name & it’ll become ‘her’ name.

Rainatnight Tue 24-Oct-17 13:14:06

Oh I love Viola. Are the parents Chalet School fans, by any chance?

Sophronia Tue 24-Oct-17 13:23:54

I really like it! It’s definitely underused at the moment.

cuirderussie Tue 24-Oct-17 13:25:37

Sweet and quaint. Also, the fab Daphne du Maurier.

wizzywig Tue 24-Oct-17 13:26:53

Daphne from Neighbours. Nice name!!

glovesonstrings Tue 24-Oct-17 13:31:34

Beautiful name. Well worth a revival

BabloHoney Tue 24-Oct-17 13:54:40

Absolutely love the name Daphne! It does make me think of Frasier, but I wouldn't have said that was a bad thing?

DuncanDonut Tue 24-Oct-17 14:00:25

It’s lovely. I wonder if she’d end up being ‘Daffy’, but that would be ok by me personally.

juneybean Tue 24-Oct-17 14:01:56

Oh I love it!

Grimmfebruary Tue 24-Oct-17 14:02:09

Makes me think of daphne du maurier. Beautiful name.

Notalitigator Tue 24-Oct-17 14:16:36

I'm in the minority as I think it's dreadfully frumpy.

13luckyblackcats Tue 24-Oct-17 14:18:12

Rainatnight I hadn’t thought of that, but I bet they are!

ThisisrealityGreg Tue 24-Oct-17 14:23:20

I love it.

I used to work with a lovely Daphne and then there's Daphne from Scooby doo and Daphne from Neighbours. It's all good.

LiviaAD Tue 24-Oct-17 14:23:30

I think its beautiful, very classical, reminds me of laurels

honeysucklejasmine Tue 24-Oct-17 14:24:25

Love it. Would have used it but DH's GM is called Daphne and didn't want people to think that was why.

KoalaD Tue 24-Oct-17 14:24:43

I don't, but I love Dahlia.

NameChange30 Tue 24-Oct-17 14:25:27

Love it. Underused!

MaMisled Tue 24-Oct-17 14:28:26

Love it! If I'd had another DD she'd have been a Daphne but had to settle for naming the cat it!

SemperTemper Tue 24-Oct-17 14:28:57

I absolutely love it but DH said no way. Apparently it's a name reserved for 80 year-olds hmm

I especially love the way it looks written down.

Lunathemoon Tue 24-Oct-17 14:52:31

I know a Daphne nn Fifi

Mrsknackered Tue 24-Oct-17 15:03:57

I love it
