Maryjane or Maryjoan

We nearly went with Maryjane for DD1. Now we're about to ttc and wondering whether to revive it if we have another girl. However, using the joan ending would mean she was named after both of our grandmothers, one whom is no longer alive.
(am aware of the drug link. am ignoring it in favour of the AA Milne poem link)
DD1 is Carmen.

I think Maryjane is better. You and she would be constantly correcting Maryjoan as people would assume it was Maryjane.

I'd go with Mary Joan personally, as I'm not keen on names that run into each other, and Joan is a more uncommon choice than Jane - plus my dd's mn is Joan

My grandma is Mary-Jane. Funnily enough she's always been known as Meg!

Interesting about the seperation of the names being preferred. I'm just anti-hyphenation. I'd alway assumed it was Mary Jane but saw it all run together recently and thought it looked prettier.

I think the names look horrible run together. Definitely would go with separate names.
Mary Joan is ok, but Mary Jane...I just can't shake the marijuana association!

I wouldn't run names together. Personally I don't like doublenames anyway, I think they are a bit 'cutsie' and just make me think of The Waltons but I think running them together just makes it look like a typo.

You can have two "first names" without hyphenating. I think that is preferable to two running together.
