Teilo

My husband really likes the name Teilo for a boy (a Welsh saint name, and we do have links, so not completely random) but I think it would constantly be misheard as Taylor or be misspelt. Any thoughts?

Pronounced How, OP? Tee-Lo? Tay-Lo? Ty-Lo?

I like it. It's quite like Tayto (which is a very popular Irish crisp) but if you're not in Ireland I wouldn't worry about that. Go for it. Much nicer than Taylor.

I like it. It would be nice as a middle name too if you don't use it as a first name.

I like it!

It's cool, unusual but not too wacky.

Love Welsh names and I've never heard of it - go for it. Also I like names ending in o.

I had to say it a few times out loud (try THAT when you're strap hanging on a bus with a phone in one hand) but...I like it!

Yes very oten depending on accent would sound more like Tie-lo. Lovely name though, not seen often now.

I like Teifion too.

FizzyGreenWater · 16/10/2017 18:05

...which would be sort of Tie-vee-on

Did you use the name?! My cat is called Teilo! I know that’s not very exciting but as I don’t have kids it’s as near as I’m gonna get!

Report
BigcatLittlecat · 16/05/2018 22:26

It's pronounced more Tie-Low around here too! Somewhere between Tie and Tay really! Love it!

Quite pleasant really though I think it will get confused with Taylor.
