Hi all. I’m expecting a girl and my top two favourite names are Anya and Sienna. Sister is Sofia. Which do you prefer?
Thank you!

Anya, but I don't believe in naming your second child to "match" your first child as they are individuals not part of a set.

Anya - my eldest has the same name as yours and my youngest has a very similar name to Anya - they are lovely when said together besides that Anya is a beautiful name.

I think it depends on accent of Anya.

Anya by a mile. I really dislike Sienna.

Anya, I think when people have children of the same initials it sounds quite twee.

I have the same first initial as my sister and getting letters/parcels for Miss J Bloggs and not knowing who for was really frustrating.

I think they're both very pretty. However, as you already have a Sofia (capital of Bulgaria), Anya might be better to avoid the "geography teacher" connotations of all your children being named after European cities if you use Sienna (city in Italy).

Anya. Or even better - Anna.

Thank you everyone! I am drawn more towards Anya as the Sofia and Sienna similarities are holding me back a bit. I do still love Sienna though.
It just always seems to me that when i say we’re considering Anya to people they don’t know how to take it. Is it because it’s a bit rarer? I think it’s a beautiful name and looks lovely written down. I feel i somehow need reassurance that it is in fact a lovely name and it’s not just me that thinks that.
Two European cities, i see what you mean! I do like Geography though Grin

Anya isn't my actual name btw (although I wish it was!).

Astrid because I like it better than Anya or Sienna, although you possibly may not. Grin

Anya. Two Miss S (Surnames) might be confusing and I think Anya goes beautifully as well as being lovely in its own.

I don't think Anya is as unusual as you think OP.

I know 2 little Anyas

I'd be more drawn towards Anya because I'm not a fan of siblings having similar initials! Although I guess a middle name would break it up a bit.

My name is spelt Ania and pronounced the same as Anya, I get a few mispronunciations, but doubt you would with a y.
