A twin for Jasper?

SupermarketSally · 05/10/2017 10:52

We don't know the sexes but I'm trying to come up with B/G and B/B names. We already have 3 DD's.

We both really like Jasper for 1 boy. Our surname makes things tricky as it's 1 syllable and begins and ends in 'S'.

Girls names we like are -
Ivy
Sylvie
Effie
Marnie
Kitty
Cecily (Too many 'S' sounds?)

Boys -
Rupert (Ruben in the family, too similar?)
Henry
Rex (Clashes terribly with surname Sad)

Any other suggestions are most welcome!

Leo
Theo
Toby
Rory
Corin
Dominic

Bryony
Poppy
Dulcie
Freya
Melody
Molly

I like Cecily and Rex but not with a S surname (sorry). Don't think Rupert is too similar to Ruben.

Casper, sorry no help but couldn't resist.

Thank you @minipie

Typically Cecily and Rex are my favourites but they just don't go at all with the surname Sad

I'm just intrigued by your surname! 1 syllable, starts and ends in S and rhymes with Rex??

Report
SupermarketSally · 05/10/2017 12:01

@RebeccaWithTheGoodHair it doesn't rhyme with Rex just clashes, when you say together you have to pause. Think along to lines of Spears (it's not Spears).

I'm quite annoyed as otherwise Rex would of been a definite!

@lovelyjubilly I really like Amelie but it is very similar to my own name and we already have one in the family

I've just had a sneaky Facebook search of the name Rex with our surname and people do have that name!

Maybe I can use it, hmmm...

Jasper and Rex are 2 of the most awesome boys names out there and go so well together. Even when I've sometimes thought "oh!" when hearing a first name and surname that might jar a bit/start with same letter etc, one heard a few times I think nothing more of it.

Its the 1st name you here every day, all the time, not both together.

Jasper is a gemstone, so you could consider some other gem names:

Ruby
Sapphire
Amethyst
Opal
Jade
Amber
Jett

Or just some names I thought sounded nice with Jasper:
Erin
Corinne
Emily
Jake
Helen

Congratulations! Do you have a front runner for your girls name?

Report
SupermarketSally · 05/10/2017 21:56

Thank you @Bowsandbugs

We don't, DH loves Ivy but I'm just not sure, plus one of our DD's is Isla and I think it's too similar
