It means 'happy' in Yiddish. It's pretty, I think.

But your first thought would be...?

Charliedeservesamedal Tue 26-Sep-17 18:15:22

Warrior Princess...sorry.

BelafonteRavenclaw Tue 26-Sep-17 18:15:29

That it's Robin William's daughters name (I think). Or that you were a fan of the game.

oursofas Tue 26-Sep-17 18:17:21

I like it but I do think of the game.

SweetChickadee Tue 26-Sep-17 18:19:26

wasn't she the baddie in Terrahawks? <old>

Greenglassteacup Tue 26-Sep-17 18:20:30

I'd think Zelda from 80's scary tv show Terrahawks

Greenglassteacup Tue 26-Sep-17 18:20:47

Ooh crosspost

daisypond Tue 26-Sep-17 18:21:47

I think wife of Scott Fitzgerald as my first thought. Warrior Princess for me is Xena. Never heard of the game.

INeedToEat Tue 26-Sep-17 18:22:41

I'm a massive fan of Nintendo and really like the name. Not sure I'd be brave enough to use it though.

TheNewMrs Tue 26-Sep-17 18:23:27

Zelda was the name of my childhood tooth fairy grin

<not helpful>

Minty82 Tue 26-Sep-17 18:25:42

First thought would be Zelda Fitzgerald, and associations would therefore be literature, jazz age and mentally unstable...

BitOfFun Tue 26-Sep-17 18:26:00

It's a beautiful name- I think of F Scott Fitzgerald too. My only slight reservation would be that I think there's a Hollywood movie just out or due soon about Zelda Fitzgerald, which may mean it's about to enjoy an upswing in popularity.

stinkingbishop Tue 26-Sep-17 18:26:25

I like it. Was vetoed. It's Fitzgerald's wife for me too.

ujerneyson Tue 26-Sep-17 18:27:24

Jewish grandma, short and wide with a huge bust and a German accent. Sorry

Whitelisbon Tue 26-Sep-17 18:28:37

I love it.
Dh did not.
It's the princess to me too.

greendale17 Tue 26-Sep-17 18:28:43

Nintendo

graziemille Tue 26-Sep-17 18:37:25

Stocky Jewish woman with a mustache.

EddChinasVagina Tue 26-Sep-17 18:38:16

Sabrina the teenage witch’s auntie

TigerDragonMonkey Tue 26-Sep-17 18:41:00

My first thought is the game, but I do like both the game and the name smile

Needalifeoverhaul Tue 26-Sep-17 18:44:06

Kick-ass superhero! I'm not sure why..maybe it's the warrior princess connotation ...

AdorableMisfit Tue 26-Sep-17 18:45:02

I like it. I have a work colleague called Zelda and she is a lovely person, and stunningly pretty. My husband also likes the name because he's a massive fan of the Legend of Zelda games. He wanted to name our daughter Zelda but I vetoed it because it doesn't work with our surname. Otherwise we would have used it!

NC4now Tue 26-Sep-17 18:47:52

Legend of

I love those games. Probably wouldn't use it on a DC though. It's in the same league as Mario and Luigi for me, I'm afraid.

Jooni Tue 26-Sep-17 18:58:29

Legend of here too I'm afraid.

It's a shame because it's a seriously cool name!

LadyintheRadiator Tue 26-Sep-17 19:00:16

Love it. And the legend of, which doesn't ruin it at all for me.

strawberrypenguin Tue 26-Sep-17 19:10:51

I’d think game but I think it’s a lovely name
