Guys, this name list. Can't tell if it's supposed to be serious. I fear it is.

Elbi Thu 21-Sep-17 12:39:37

Not sure why the link isn't linking. Try again -

haha I saw this the other day too and my face got increasingly more hmm as I read through it

FlaviaAlbia Thu 21-Sep-17 12:43:58

I don't think it means the foot virus in America, it's just a name there so if the site is based there...

euanthesheepiloveyou Thu 21-Sep-17 12:45:01

They missed a trick. I think 'Pustule' has a similar vibe but nicer ring to it.

Chaffinch4 Thu 21-Sep-17 12:47:10

Yikes, they're all pretty awful (thatcher???), except for Pippi which is a normal name and randomly thrown in there amongst all the insanity!

Lovely, you could have Veruca Bubonic to really finish it off nicely.

MaroonPencil Thu 21-Sep-17 12:49:54

Sounds like someone read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and didn't get the joke

Branleuse Thu 21-Sep-17 12:51:13

not quite the same, but I did see a boat named Candida once.

FreezerBird Thu 21-Sep-17 12:52:43

Melanin? Linux? Caliber?

The world has gone bananas.

(I quite like Hestia, and Iseult.)

MaroonPencil Thu 21-Sep-17 12:52:52

How can they have beautiful names like Iseult, which is hardly brand new, with horrors like Melanin. "Ooh hello Mel what's your name short for - Melanie? Melody maybe?" "Nah, it's Melanin, my parents were hipster idiots "

SexandDrugsandaNiceCuppa Thu 21-Sep-17 12:54:09

I've met several Candida's - it's quite posh apparently!

MaroonPencil Thu 21-Sep-17 12:55:42

There was a Candida in Pulp.

ItchyFoot Thu 21-Sep-17 12:58:59

The first one sounds like how my little sister used to pronounce magazine grin

Dixiestampsagain Thu 21-Sep-17 13:06:00

I actually know an Anakin, but as did the rest of the suggestions-flipping heck!!!

Dixiestampsagain Thu 21-Sep-17 13:08:01

I was trying to work out if it was a piss-take too, Elbi but I'm thinking it's not!!

Awwlookatmybabyspider Thu 21-Sep-17 13:10:13

Names that no one else will have. No shit Sherlock. grin

MumBod Thu 21-Sep-17 13:11:31

I always think Chlamydia would make a pretty name...

FrancisCrawford Thu 21-Sep-17 14:39:31

They are suggesting Mazikeen

That's how I used to say "magazine". When I was a little girl. Like, under 7.

FrancisCrawford Thu 21-Sep-17 14:40:07

Itchy - are you my sister?!

Elbi Thu 21-Sep-17 14:44:09

Yeah Freezer I quite like Hestia too! Just a bit meh on the meaning.

steppemum Thu 21-Sep-17 14:53:13

I liked Hestis.

But - Zeplyn - the flying bombs in WW2 - great name hmm

steppemum Thu 21-Sep-17 15:00:35

whoops - Hestia I mean

FrancisCrawford Thu 21-Sep-17 15:33:51

Zeppelins were airships and WW1 vintage

The WW2 flying or "buzz" bombs were the V1 and V2 bombs

Rubyslippers7780 Thu 21-Sep-17 15:35:33

Reminds me of ' Shirley Valentine' when she says she likes Clitoris for a name...after all plenty of men walking around called Dick!!
