For boy or girl? Thoughts? Chavvy?

Sophronia Wed 20-Sep-17 22:10:21

A bit 90s American. Makes me think of Taylor Swift.

Androidsdreamofelectricsheep Wed 20-Sep-17 22:11:22

No.

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn Wed 20-Sep-17 22:12:24

For neither. Awful, sorry op.

AntagonyAunt Wed 20-Sep-17 22:12:59

Have always liked it for a girl/woman/boy. Bit feminine for a man.

SquintySquirrel Wed 20-Sep-17 22:13:20

How about Piper? Same issues?

Justgivemesomepeace Wed 20-Sep-17 22:14:39

Yep chavvy sorry.

Jugglingballs65 Wed 20-Sep-17 22:14:51

It's a surname. Was mine and I hated it as it was pronounced Tayler with the emphasis on er , locally.

mummytwoh Wed 20-Sep-17 22:15:56

For a girl I think it's very American, and as much as I hate calling a name Chavvy yes for me for a boy it would come under it

Alisvolatpropiis Wed 20-Sep-17 22:16:17

A fairly close relative of mine has a child called Piper. A girl. The lead actress from the film Coyote Ugly is called Piper in real life. I quite like it.

I really don't like Taylor, for a boy or a girl.

boredofmyoldname Wed 20-Sep-17 22:19:14

I don't like but that's because the only 2 I know are shits...

I'm not a subscriber of the "chavvy" name theory though. I know scruffy buggers from all walks of like whether they be Sebastian or Kallum makes no odds.

SquintySquirrel Wed 20-Sep-17 22:20:39

This baby naming malarkey is a lot harder than i thought it would be! Other choices are include Jack or Milo for a boy - also love Robyn for a girl?

Alisvolatpropiis Wed 20-Sep-17 22:21:58

Jack is dull and Milo doesn't age well. I'd be inclined to go for Miles and just nickname him Milo when little.

Why not Robin for a boy?

SuperBeagle Wed 20-Sep-17 22:22:04

It's a bogan name where I am (similar to chavvy). I know a few around the same age as me, and most of them spell it Tayla.

Liadain Wed 20-Sep-17 22:34:35

I don't mind Taylor at all on a girl, not keen on a boy though. It is a bit surnamey but I vastly prefer it to Matilda, Evie etc. I have taught a couple of Taylors who were wonderful kids (whereas the ones mentioned above...well let's just say it's turned me off those names!).

I also like Piper. Hate Robyn, sorry - always think it's a bit wet sounding.

I like Jack but not loving Milo. There are many kids called Jack though if that bothers you!

Justgivemesomepeace Wed 20-Sep-17 22:35:29

Jack is really popular and it sounds like you like more unusual names. I like Gabriel for boy and Saskia for a girl but DP didn't ☹ I do like Robyn for a girl.

TatianaLarina Wed 20-Sep-17 22:37:41

Milo's great, Jack is too ubiquitous, Taylor is very chavvy.

TatianaLarina Wed 20-Sep-17 22:38:57

I like Piper.

Sophronia Wed 20-Sep-17 22:49:34

I like Jack but not the rest.

Buntysoven Thu 21-Sep-17 00:42:12

I like Robyn but not the others

NameChangeFamousFolk Thu 21-Sep-17 01:20:35

I like Piper quite a lot. Not Taylor, though,

MikeUniformMike Thu 21-Sep-17 07:12:04

Piper is cute, Taylor has been and done.

ButterflyOfFreedom Thu 21-Sep-17 07:13:23

You've got it with Jack or Robyn - both lovely! smile

koalab Thu 21-Sep-17 07:14:59

Robyn was on my list. I also like Piper.

FrancisCrawford Thu 21-Sep-17 07:27:17

Piper reminds s lot of people of Piper Alpha, so not a positive connotation

Dislike Taylor I'm afraid
