My friend is down to these 3 on her shortlist for a boy and would like to know which people prefer. smile

I love Adam

Adam

rizlett Mon 10-Jul-17 16:31:59

Laurence.

GrumpySausage Mon 10-Jul-17 16:32:48

Adam, then Jonathan. Not keen on Laurence.

TomaszCanSchafernakerMeAnytime Mon 10-Jul-17 16:33:34

Adam, then Laurence, then Jonathan.

SerfTerf Mon 10-Jul-17 16:34:22

Adam.

SerfTerf Mon 10-Jul-17 16:35:06

Laurie is very nice but I'm not mad on Laurence itself.

jellycat Mon 10-Jul-17 16:36:57

Jonathan, then Adam. Not Laurence. A warning though: lots of people can't spell Jonathan (although they think they do know how to spell it so they don't ask how it's spelled -they just write it down wrong!).

Lawrence with a w! Though they are all lovely names.

ReinettePompadour Mon 10-Jul-17 16:44:47

Adam or Laurence with a 'u' NOT a 'w'.

Laurence is a girls name. The feminine version of Laurent. In the US Laurie is also a girls name

Lawrence is a boys name.

I prefer Jonathan.

badabing36 Mon 10-Jul-17 17:06:19

Adam or Lawrence.

demirose87 Mon 10-Jul-17 17:35:01

Jonathan definitely

MikeUniformMike Mon 10-Jul-17 17:39:58

Jonathan, but it's a bit dated. And it ends up being Jon or Jonny.
Lawrence and Laurence are boy's names. I prefer the u spelling. It's going to be Larry or Loz. Laurence Llywellyn-Bowen is enough to put me off it.
Jonathon is just wrong.
Adam is ok.

jellycat Mon 10-Jul-17 17:41:00

And I can't spell Lawrence 😳 In my defence I just copied the posters just before me!

SerfTerf Mon 10-Jul-17 17:42:44

Lawrence and Laurence are both legitimate spellings @jellycat but it's nicer with a 'U'

20thcenturybitch Mon 10-Jul-17 17:42:54

Another vote for Adam from me. Others are fine choices too though.

n0ne Mon 10-Jul-17 17:44:29

Adam

jellycat Mon 10-Jul-17 17:56:36

The OP spelled it Lawrence though SerfTurf smile

Sugarpiehoneyeye Mon 10-Jul-17 18:07:55

Adam

Lulette Mon 10-Jul-17 18:10:05

Jonathan.

But PP is right, people can't spell it. It's always Jonathon or Johnathan (which I have never heard anyone actually spell it that way).

mintich Mon 10-Jul-17 18:13:40

Lawrence then Jonathan

itssquidstella Mon 10-Jul-17 18:41:10

Jonathan, then Adam, then Lawrence (although I prefer the spelling Laurence and the nn Laurie). Lawrence is a bit wet.
