Is Kit for a girl fine? Or would putting Kitty be better? I don't like Katherine or any others sadly!

Kitty is just too cutesy. Kit short for Katharine is ok.

I quite like Kitta for a girl, which I would shorten to Kit. I think it means North.

I wouldn't put just Kit. Kitty is nice. Personally, I like a longer/more grown-up name on the BC so they have a choice.

Kit is not really a name in it's own right and when it is used it's a boys name so would def avoid having just 'Kit'.

Our daughter is called Kitty! It's a perfectly respectable (if old fashioned) nickname for Katherine or Kathleen in Ireland and in Holland (it was the name of Anne Frank's diary), where we are from. Also it is fab.

We did do Katherine on the BC though in case it doesn't suit her when she grows up, or she wants to be a lawyer or something. I like Kitt as a less girly version.

I know a boy called Kit. Kitty sounds like it's short for something.

Kitty is lovely! It was my great grandmother's name (born 1912) and wasn't short for anything.

I really like kitty but I do think it needs a longer "official" name

Better than Kitty for a boy! Grin No, I think Kitty is fine, very sweet though. Kit is pretty cool.

I know a female Kit that started as Kitty.

I know an adult Kitty. She's lovely and her name does suit her! She is from a non-English-speaking country so I don't know if it is a nickname for anything else.

DH is Christopher shortened to Kit. It's so male in my head.

I would hate to be Kit too! Sorry! Especially if that was all it said on my BC! I think I'd feel cheated of a name! Plus it's s boy's mane, plus people would forever ask what it's short for!
Kitty is much nicer! Possiblu a bit too sweet for an adult but then she'll grow up with lots of peers with sweet girly names.

I think put Kathryn/Katrina/Katarina on the BC and use Kitty or Kit as a pet name.
