Thoughts on Natalie?

I'm expecting a baby due around Xmas time and I love this name. It's a family name and is very sentimental to me.

I do like the variant Natalia but it just doesn't work with my other DC's names (too frilly/fancy) so it would really have to be Natalie.

What do you think?

No
Very very dated

I like it and although there aren't many young Natalies about (although I do know a lovely 16 year old one), I don't think it is dated like a lot of names from the 70s/80s are. It is more of a classic than a faddy name.

I think it's a lovely name. Much nicer than Violet, Ivy, Olive etc which always feature on threads on here.

It's pretty and unusual nowadays. Just check you like the nn Nat though

It's beautiful. Go for it!

I wouldn't worry about fashion, because it's impossible to know what the fashions in names will be when she's adult. By then, it might be incredibly fashionable again, and even if it isn't, it doesn't matter.

Absolutely love it!

It was on my short list for DD, but DH wouldn't consider it Hmm.

We did meet a little Natalie at Tumble Tots when DD was around 2 or 3 - I just remember feeling quite jealous that somebody else had been allowed to use it Grin.

nn doesn't have to be Nat (although I like Nat). You could also use Ali.

Talie or Tally are also good shortened forms. If you like it, use it!

I love it! We almost called DD1 it! The only reason we didn't is because we're not keen on Nat as a nn.

It is a bit dated, but would be refreshing nowadays among all the Evies and Lilys.

I know two baby Natalies - I think it is a lovely name, especially for Christmas time.

No. Its Eastenders connotations override everything else for me. Sorry.
