I really like Elijah but Idris is more unusual and also nice.

Love Idris. Not common at all but easy to pronounce. No bad connotations for me. Just the lovely Mr Elba Blush

Both lovely. Idris, probably.

Seems like Idris is the clear winner. We're going to sleep on it and decide in the morning. Thank you for your input everyone.

OP,

Charismatic and charming Idris Elba, plus name meanings of, and connections to, magician/ learning/ writing and a famous mountain...

What's not to love? Smile
(Zach and Idris go really nicely together, as well).

Idris. Elijah is a name that is super cute for a baby but I just don't see it as a grown man's name. Would it become Eli or 'Lijah?
I'll add Moroccan kings and ginger beer to the list of Idris connections.

Idris!

I think the shortening Eli is a really whiny sound.

Idris.

I really don't like Elijah at all. I don't like the "zh" sound and I hate the shortening "Eli". Do like Ellis and Elliot a lot though, which are quite similar.
