Or any suggestions along similar lines?

It needs to be fairly easy to pronounce in Spain where we live, although not necessarily a Spanish name (as we aren't!)

Isla is a bit of a nono as it's an actual spanish word but it is pretty.

Sister to Bertie (Albert) which is why she can't be Alba which I love!

Got to be Madeleine (but not Madeline).

Madeline seems to be quite a popular name at the moment.

I say Harriet

I love Lucia. In Spanish the pronunciation is Lu see ah which sounds lovely to me.

If you like Isla, how about Ayla? Same pronunciation (I think) and easier for Spanish-speakers to pronounce. Of your other names, I like Madeline and Isobel best (though prefer Isabella myself Smile).

Lucia is nice but we have one in the family!

Yea suddenly madeline/leine has dominated this board - bit of a surprise given how low it is on the ONS list!!

Isobel is the spanish spelling, I like it as least frilly, but is it too popular?

Wish DH hadn't vetoed Clara..

Harriet is lovely, if not first name it'll
definitely be a middle. The only thing putting me off is the hoiky way the spanish pronounce the letter "h"

Isabel is the Spanish spelling; Isobel is the Scottish variant.

Agree Lucia is really nice.

Harriet.
Rosita or Pepita ! 😄

Madeline but I would pronounce that mad-eh-LINE to rhyme with wine.

Madeleine is different IMO

Matilda? Similar to Madeleine and Harriet.

Rosa

I think they are all nice but I think Madeline Harriet is beautiful.

I love Matilda but can't stand Tilly! Just as you say pilates Eleanor is lovely but not Ellie. I also like Miranda but not Miri, Randy (urgh) or Mandy.

I don't mind Hattie or Maddie (but still prefer the full versions)

Ah yes, Isabel not Isobel, thank you!

Harriet, it's an ace name, ours is 16 and she loves it.

She refused to answer to anything other than Harriet until a couple of years ago when she became Harry!

I love Harriet. My favourite book when I was young was 'Harriet the Spy'!

OK, I'd go for Isabel (as you're in Spain).

Harriet. I love it, and she can be Harry, Hetty, or Hatty.

Has ONS released the 2016 data yet? Maddie et al might jump up
