DTD he would be Theo.

Thanks!

I read that as 'doing the deed', but I assume you mean day to day?? Thinking of your son's mid-sex nickname is too much even by mumsnet standards!

I like Theo. Not keen on Beau personally, but it's a middle name so almost anything is acceptable.

Jooni · 23/06/2017 16:45

Lovely. I think Beau makes a nice middle name - short, simple but a bit more interesting than the standard James.

Missyb15 · 23/06/2017 16:50

I love it

MommaGee · 23/06/2017 16:54

Cute

MommaGee · 23/06/2017 16:54

Also read it as doing the deed

LittleBlueMonster · 23/06/2017 16:54

Sorry! Day to day!

Hate beau as a boys name but have heard worse. It's very feminine in my opinion. Theodore is nice.

LittleBlueMonster · 23/06/2017 17:29

Does sounding feminine really matter? No one seems to care when girls are called Charlie, Jamie, etc. (Which sound masculine)

Amee1992x · 23/06/2017 17:41

Oh that do care nobody was impressed that I'm naming my girl spencer! But yeah I like Theo 😊

Amee1992x · 23/06/2017 17:41

They*

LittleBlueMonster · 23/06/2017 17:43

@Amee1992x but Spencer is a boys name, so was just giving examples of names that could be girls names. Beau is actually a boys name! Spencer is nice on a girl though, but I love PLL Smile

Amee1992x · 23/06/2017 17:51

I know I'm just saying they do care 😂 Spencer was my husbands choice and Iv always associated it with a girl because I read the PPL books. I know both male & female Beaus spelled both Beau & Bo! I'm think you've picked a great combo

Bubblesoup · 23/06/2017 18:17

My only concern is whether Beau translates to a grown up man. Looking at my DH for example, Beau would not work he's a 6'3" ginger, stocky build, lots of body hair and loves a pint and to do musical farts! Beau - even as a mn would embarrass him! LOL! Genuinely not trying to offend you by sayong that!

TDHManchester · 23/06/2017 18:41

Theo yes, Beau..? Really ? No..

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 23/06/2017 18:44

I agree that Beau is feminine and no 6' fully grown man would thank you for it.

It's the type of name his friends will snigger at when it's read out at his wedding.

like our mates did at DH's middle name

Algebraic · 23/06/2017 19:11

It's great. I know a massive rugby loving, pint drinking giant of a man called Beau and it suits him just fine. Plus when will it ever be said? (I quite like that you could also call him Teddy Beau haha)

Muumi3 · 23/06/2017 21:24

I don't think Beau is too feminine because 1. It's a middle name and 2. it's a boys name? Every Beau I've met has been a boy and it's the masculine form

If it bothers you, how about Theodore Beauregard?

Mrsknackered · 24/06/2017 00:27

Both are really wet names in my opinion, I'm sorry.

I know a git called Beau.

I do know some lovely Theo's though so my dislike for it is completely unfounded.

OwlsinTowls · 24/06/2017 00:30

Very handsome and ages well.

DramaAlpaca · 24/06/2017 00:32

It's not my style at all. I can just about cope with Theodore, but I really don't like Beau. Like Mrsknackered I think they are both a bit wet, sorry. Theodore is a soft sounding name that needs a really strong middle name to balance it, and Beau doesn't sound strong at all.

blahthisistoohard · 24/06/2017 00:56

Theodore= lovely name
Beau= simply awful (makes me think that it was inspired by American rapping slang)

Obviouspretzel · 24/06/2017 07:18

Why would his friends laugh during his wedding at a name he has had throughout the full time he has known them?

I like it personally, a lot of people never know your middle name anyway though.

Theodore is definitely soft and gentle imo, pleasant but soft. Adding Beau is like tying a ribbon on it.

blahthisistoohard · 24/06/2017 08:25

@Obviouspretzel because no one in their right mind would ever admit to having such a horrendous middle name!

Obviouspretzel · 24/06/2017 12:16

Loads of people have a middle name they don't like. I personally don't think the adult Theodore Beau would give a shit about his friends knowing his name. That's even assuming he didn't like it in the first place!
