I really want the name Hamish for this baby, but am worried DH will veto it straight off. (He vetoed Angus early on with DS1 and, once decided, there was no turning him). He's very influenced by popular culture and people he knows when it comes to names... so I'm trying to think of some cool Hamish's (in music / the arts / sport?) that I can float by him before suggesting the name. Grin. Please help! Can anyone think of any??

Oh it's such a great name and I really want to help but can't think of a damn thing.

I always wanted Hector for a boy and there's a Morrisey song about someone called Hector .

Google says Hamish Campbell is an actor from Braveheart and that Dr Watson from Sherlock Holmes is John Hamish Watson. DH says Hamish Marshall plays cricket and Hamish Watson plays rugby for Scotland (I haven't verified those on google though). Any good?

Have checked (on google) and DH is correct Smile.

Ooh thanks guys! Mr & Mrs Decaf - the cricket and rugby refs could definitely help! (I love hector too).

My favourite Hamish is the really sporty boy with dwarfism from Born To Be Different. He's a great role model!
