Thank you smile

Love it. Always been a fave and due a revival.

OuchBollocks Mon 12-Jun-17 20:53:18

A bit dated maybe? But then one of my very best friends is Stephanie so I have a soft spot for the name.

Awwlookatmybabyspider Mon 12-Jun-17 20:53:59

Love it. Its definitely due a come back

CaulkheadUpNorf Mon 12-Jun-17 20:55:00

I know a few children and many adults. I like Steph and Stephie but not Stephanie.

One friend used to say people called her fanny when she a child...

I like it. It lends itself to the abbreviations Stevie and Annie, which are both great. It was on our list had DS been a DD for this reason.

I also like the full name.

Love it but vetoed by my DH for current bump !

krustykittens Mon 12-Jun-17 20:57:39

I like it!

TheLegendofGreySock Mon 12-Jun-17 20:59:03

Horrible, sorry.

Boring and frumpy. Like Paula. A man's name feminised.

OriginOfCliches Mon 12-Jun-17 21:00:47

I really like it. It sounds fractionally dated, but is a fairly classic name and is surely due a revival.

I love it, especially Stephie for short.

ABitOTT Mon 12-Jun-17 21:05:55

I've disliked that name my entire life, however I'm coming around to it. It's certainly better than some of the names from that era.

YokoReturns Mon 12-Jun-17 21:06:19

It always reminds me of the pool attendant in The Day Today, 'STEPHANIEEE! STEPHANIEEE! STEPHANIEEEE! Free swim...'

I realise this puts me in a small minority of MNers who've actually seen this

funmummy48 Mon 12-Jun-17 21:06:36

Love it and know a 3 year old Stephanie. It's a pretty name.

Onceafortnight Mon 12-Jun-17 21:06:44

It's ok, bit dated. Better than Violet and Mabel etc.

Ruined for me by dd watching endless lego friends and being obsessed with Stephanie because she's blonde like her and name rhymes, otherwise I like it

Thirtyrock39 Mon 12-Jun-17 21:16:24

I love it but am biased as named dd it!! though shes a stephie to nearly everyone. I love all the 60s/70s American sounding names like judy, jane, Penelope etc.. I alos like individual names and have yet to meet another kid called Stephanie.

AuntieStella Mon 12-Jun-17 21:18:53

I wonder why it didn't catch on again in the Lazy Town years.

I rather like it, possibly because I know a lovely one in RL

SheepyFun Mon 12-Jun-17 21:22:24

We'd have considered it for DD, but there's already one in the family, and it was easier to entirely rule out names of family members rather than get into an argument about favouritism!

mondler Mon 12-Jun-17 21:29:11

I love it but can't use it. It would give her lots of name options and its pretty.

Sugarpiehoneyeye Mon 12-Jun-17 21:30:12

I really like it, love Steph and Stevie.

Pleasemrstweedie Mon 12-Jun-17 21:32:07

I don't think it's particularly dated, I just think it's never been hugely popular, but yes, I like it. In fact, I wish I'd thought of it myself now!

Xmasbaby11 Mon 12-Jun-17 21:36:01

Dated, sorry.
