Me and my husband need to decide on a name for our daughter she is almost two weeks old and we havent decided

Gabrielle ( I love this too, we are living in a hispanic/latin country so quite fitting although she is likely to be called Gabriella)
Mary ( I really dislike this name but DH is adamant this must be one of her names, so either first or middle name)
Isabelle ( Indifferent)
Amara ( I love this name, just not sure if she looks like an Amara or if its too out there)

We need to decide on a first name and middle name

I love Amara, beautiful name.

Nonameyet1 Tue 30-May-17 15:10:13

Amara Mary or Gabrielle Mary are both gorgeous!

Stonecirclegal Tue 30-May-17 15:15:53

Amara is lovely 😊

CrispyBathTowel Tue 30-May-17 15:16:43

I think Gabrielle/Gabriella Mary is nice.

Mummmy2017 Tue 30-May-17 15:31:35

Isabelle Mary, i think is lovely, and you can call her Immy as a nickname...

Good luck, to both of you, the proud parents.

Gabrielle Mary

Mary makes a good middle name, but I think Amara and Mary are too similar. Isabelle is quite popular at the moment.

How about Maria as a middle name.

CherPat Tue 30-May-17 15:54:39

Yes I agree Amara and Mary sound too similar, would love to just do either Gabrielle Amara or Amara Gabrielle

Redpramlady Tue 30-May-17 16:01:12

Amara... lovely it's on my list too heard it for the first time the other day and it sounded beautiful
Amara Mary :-)

MarriedinMaui Tue 30-May-17 16:12:59

Rockaby Tue 30-May-17 16:16:18

Another vote for Amara Mary - lovely!

CherPat Tue 30-May-17 16:51:59

so combinations so far are

Gabrielle Mary or Amara Mary ?

Does Amara and Mary sound too similar ?

SocksBoatsAndQats Tue 30-May-17 16:53:34

Gabrielle Amara Mary? She can have more than one middle name you know.

CherPat Tue 30-May-17 18:18:12

yes I suppose she could have more than one middle name, just dont want her name to be too long, my DS1 has two middle names, one from each side of the family.

harderandharder2breathe Tue 30-May-17 18:46:54

I like Gabrielle or Amara but agree that Amara Mary is a bit too much the same

Gabrielle Mary
Amara Gabrielle Mary
Amara Maria

Rockaby Tue 30-May-17 18:55:09

I think Amara Mary sounds nicer than Gabrielle Mary. Amara and Mary wouldn't sound all that similar in my accent or DH's (mine's Irish, his is SE England). It isn't pronounced a-mare-a is it? I know one who is definitely am-ah-ra.

CherPat Tue 30-May-17 21:11:35

yes it is pronounced a-ma-rra. I have always loved this name, just having doubts, whether its a bit out there, plus the enforced middle name of mary.

CherPat Tue 30-May-17 21:11:57

that should read a-ma-ra

Gabrielle Mary

Gabrielle and Gabriella are both beautiful. I like Mary too but since you don't it seems really unfair to have a name you dislike as your daughter's first name

Love Isobel (this spelling) as it's my daughter's middle name

Amara is my least favourite. I'm really not a fan.

If the only name you both love us Gabrielle then surely that's what she should be called

Abetes Tue 30-May-17 21:16:31

I think that Amara Mary is too similar. If Mary is a deal breaker I wouldn't go for Amara.

Refilona Tue 30-May-17 21:16:36

Amara Mary sound a little too alike imho, a little like a tongue twister! I am from a Latin country, would you not like to name your daughter a name that works there too? Like Isabel and Gabriela?

Mary makes a good middle name, my mum, me and my daughter all have it as our middle name.
