Sadie and Rose - DH thinks it has to be Sadie and Rosie?

Who is right!? We have a daughter named Sadie and DD2 is due any day. We love Rose. We also like Rosie but think better as a nickname. DH thinks it has to be Rosie though as we have a Sadie. I'm right, aren't I!?

You're right - it doesn't "have" to be anything! Rose and Sadie go together perfectly. No need to call her Rosie if you prefer Rose and want that, no rule about names "matching".

I prefer Rose. She then has the choice of using Rose or nn of Rosie.

I don't like Sadie and Rosie! Too matchy!
Sadie and Rose is lovely.

I couldn't disagree more with him. Sadie and Rosie together sound really twee (sorry). Sadie is not really a twee sounding name but paired with Rosie is goes that way. Sadie and Rose sounds so elegant and sophisticated and brings out the beauty in each name.

Agree that 'matchy' names sound silly.

Matchy names would be twee, especially both with ie endings. Sadie & Rose is much better.

Rose is much nicer and goes better with Sadie.

Name envy! Sadie is beautiful and I have a Rose. Definitely not Rosie.

Have you ever watched Big Business? Eighties Gil with Bette Middler and Lily Tonkin playing two sets of twins switched at birth both called Rose and Sadie.

So, clearly Rose and Sadie work together!

Sadie and Rose i= lovely and classy, and Rose can be nicknamed Rosie anyways, so its win-win.

Call her Rose. You can always call her Rosie as a nn

Oh and Sadie is a lovely underused name! I've only ever met one child called Sadie who would be about 14 now and she was absolutely lovely.

Sadie and Rose sound lovely together. And like other pp have said, you can always use Rosie as a nick name.
We have Sadie and Saige, however Sadie gets called Lulu most of the time (Sadie turned into Sadie Loo which turned in to Lulu). And Sadie has nicknamed Saige Boogey (pronounced Boo Gee) no idea why. So Sadie and Saige have become Lulu and Boogey.

Just to add to the mix I prefer Sadie and Rosa.

I think Sadie and Rose is nicer than Sadie and Rosie though.

Rose and Sadie is PERFECT!! Have you not seen Big Business?? (The second greatest 80s comedy of all time, starring Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler playing two sets of twins mixed up at birth!)
