Hello,

Due in just over a week and still can't agree on names so would really appreciate some advice please! DD is Matilda, known as Tilly as well as Matilda.

Girls

Daisy - this is my favourite but worry it's too girly?
Martha - same initial as Matilda, is this an issue?
Rose - no concerns on this name but don't love it as much as Daisy

Boys

Sebastian - love Seb or Sebbie when he's younger, but worry we'd never actually use 'Sebastian', only the nicknames
Charles (Charlie) - worry this is too popular

Would really appreciate advice on the above names please or any other suggestions as we're really struggling!

Thank you Smile

Love Daisy and Sebastian with Matilda.

I think Rose goes best with Matilda. Martha is maybe a bit matchy? That might just be me.

Daisy is nice and it sounds like it's your favourite. I don't think it's too girly as it's quite a classic name.

The only thing that might put me off, is that I know loads of little girls called Daisy. There is always one, or sometimes two, in every toddler group I've been to, but I think that may be to do with where I live. It's quite a small town, so maybe I just keep meeting the same Daisies!

Been a long time since I had to choose names but from yours I would say

Daisy for a daughter
Charles for a son .

Oh forgot the boys! I prefer Sebastian, but Charles is nice too. Coincidentally, I know two families with a Daisy and a Charlie in each!

Matilda and Sebastian by a long shot. I am also considering Sebastian but in contrast to you I dislike the short versions and prefer the full name but worry that people will never use it...

Daisy, and Sebastian or Charles. I love Martha but I agree it's a bit matchy-matchy with Matilda.

Daisy and Sebastian are both fabulous names.

Rose is very popular and has been for some time, as is Charles/Charlie, and not keen on Martha, sounds very harsh to me.

From you list I'd pick Rose and Charles (Charlie). Good luck OP!

Daisy is nice and Rose is lovely. I don't like Martha.

Sebastian and Charles are both very nice. But I really prefer Charles, Sebastian is very popular imo.

I love your girls' names and would go with Daisy (my Daisy is 22!). Of your boys' names, I prefer Charlie even though there are lots about. Sebastian has a different feel imo.

I'd go with Daisy and Sebastian. They go really nicely with Matilda - have the same "vibe" and similar in terms of popularity.

Daisy of Sebastian, both lovely.

Martha and Sebastian.
Charles is a bit old man ish and Daisy, Rose, Lily etc are boring and overdone now. I know about 8 Lily, Lily-Mays etc under 10.

What about Charles, nickname Arlo to avoid the many Charlie's?

The Matilda I know's sister is Poppy

What about Rosalie for a girl? Or Roslyn.
I prefer Daisy to Rose.

Charles for a boy definitely.

Thank you all so much for your comments Smile

I think we're going to have to wait and see if baby is a boy before we decide on Sebastian or Charles as we love them both, it's so hard! But after reading all your comments I think we're pretty set on Daisy if we have a girl, it's just such a sweet name 😊

We have middle names sorted for our boy names but does anyone have any ideas for a middle name for Daisy please? Keen to avoid a vowel in case of unfortunate initials!!

Thank you Smile
