Any problems I'm missing?

We have a DD called Heidi Joy Lewis (not actual surname but similar) and I'm expecting #2, sex unknown.
The only names we both like so far are Rudy for a boy and Annika (we'd probably call her Anni for short).
Do you think these work with Heidi? Is it too matchy to have a y/i ending name? Are these serial killer names? Are they slang for cock or anything? Any other obvious issues?

Also we're a bit stuck for middle names. I thought maybe Alexander. I think Annika Lewis would need a single syllable middle name but I can't think of any good ones and don't want Grace or May. Any ideas?
Thanks :)

Annika is nice and goes well with Heidi. Rudy - no, sorry, really don't like it. Plus he'll get 'rude' jokes. How about Alexander as first name?

Middle name for Annika - Claire, Jane, Fern, Dawn (very 60s/70s but I think revival-worthy) or how about Mary? Not one-syllable but short and sweet.

Annika is lovely.

Rudy is awful, too rude imo.

Rudy is rudey, rude, nude, nudes, rudey nudey.

Anni L or Ann L when she is older is she chooses is far too close to Anal

Rudy and Heidi are too similar.

Plus, I can see Rudy getting made fun of. "Rude", "nudey rudy" etc.

Annika/Anni works fine with Heidi though.

Annika is just lovely, I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

Rudy - really dislike it, sorry.

Sorry, I also really dislike Rudy.

I quite like Rudy but I see that many don't..
How about Rory, Ronnie for a boy?

Annika and Heidi are perfect together. Do you have German connections? I think Rudy is ok. How about another German-inspired name like Jakob? Or Felix, Leo, Emil, or Jonas?

Love love love Heidi
Really dislike either of your possible names for DC2
(Plus 'Heidi Rudy/Hidey Rudey' sounds like a kinky game Shock)

I love Annie though, if you'd called Annika Annie anyway why not just go with that?

Annika is fab and goes really well with Heidi. How about Annika Hope or Faith - another virtue name to go with Joy?

I like Rudy but it's a bit close to Heidi IMO - another "ee" ending is fine but Rudy shares the 2-syllable, "dee" ending thing with Heidi and I do think that's a bit too close.

How about:

Rory/Ruari
Soren
Stellan
Sonny
Toby
Torin
Corin
Griffin
Rafe
Ivar/Ivan

Thanks everyone, lots to think about.
I'm not too worried about Rudy not being that popular but more so with it being too matchy with Heidi or rhymey with our surname. I think we'll keep looking at boys names.
I really like the suggestion of Faye for a middle name for Annika.

We don't have German connections as such, we are just big fans of the country and culture, we've visited lots, got engaged there, speak a bit of German. Leo was actually on our list last time but we were eventually put off by the alliteration with our surname.

Oh cool, I was thinking Scandiavia instead of Germany, was going to suggest Oskar, Henri, Lukas. Anyway. I think Heidi and Annika go perfectly, personally I'm not a fan of Rudy but think it's fine and pleasant, just not my personal cup of tea.

I like Rudy and Annika. I think they go fine with Heidi, which is also lovely.

I like pp suggestion of Rory as an alternative to Rudy. Also, how about Rufus?

If you are happening to consider alternatives to Annika, how about Anita? It could still be shortened to Annie.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 20/05/2017 09:45

Annika is so so lovely. Also reminds me of Pippi Longstocking.

But, as somebody that actually grew up speaking German.... I'm sorry, but I really dislike Rudy.
Richard, Arik, Robert, Roger, Rupert, Raphael...? Idk.

Anyhow, Congratulations :)!

And I really like pp's suggestion of Annika Dawn, Claire or Fern.

Nico is gorgeous. Love Sonny too.

I love Annie but like pp says I wouldn't use with an 'L' surname.
Bonnie?
Magdalena (Maggie)?

Rudy is really terrible. Don't even go there. Ruby is ok for a girl though. What about Reuben or Rory.
