Which do you prefer?

One is my choice, the other is DP's

We cannot agree.

Help!

I ❤ Marnie. I don't know any Marnies, but equally I know no Lois' either!

Both beautiful names.

I'd have to toss a coin. I'm sorry, I know that is of no help at all.

My friend's daughter is Lois and she's lovely.

Lois.

Marnie for some reason sounds a bit self-obsessed or vain. Weird, I've never met a RL Marnie so no clue why I think this!

LordBeefCurtain Fri 19-May-17 01:15:35

Lois. My daughter is called this and I am biased!

SashaSays Fri 19-May-17 01:48:08

I like Marnie

Marnie makes me think of Girls, so feels a bit 'of its time', but not really in a good way, if you know what I mean.

Marnie

I know a little baby Lois, I like it and would probably choose this over Marnie.

Marnie! But I'm biased as it is a family name smile

Jooni Fri 19-May-17 08:58:15

Marnie

Marnie, definitely Marnie.

namechange20050 Fri 19-May-17 09:40:06

Marnie! Gorgeous name.

Sugarpiehoneyeye Fri 19-May-17 09:42:07

It's a close call, but I'm going with Lois.

auntym Fri 19-May-17 13:09:43

Lois but it's close for me, both nice!

Rockaby Fri 19-May-17 13:32:09

Definitely Lois. Lovely!

Rockaby Fri 19-May-17 13:33:10

I do know a horrible woman named Marnie though, so I think that's why I'm not keen on the name!

harderandharder2breathe Fri 19-May-17 14:03:50

Lois

NavyandWhite Fri 19-May-17 16:32:42

Would you pronounce Lois as Low-iss or Loyce/Loice (as in voice)?

Either way I like Marnie.

Thatextrainch Fri 19-May-17 17:48:38

I like both but Lois is less popular so i'd probably choose that

dotdotdotmustdash Fri 19-May-17 17:56:02

There is a Hitchcock film from 1964 called 'Marnie' about a psychologically troubled, but beautiful woman. I think it's an excellent name. Lois is also pretty, and I met a couple of them. I think I would go with Marnie in your position. It's not common but it's memorable.
