I'm keen, so is DP. Just want some views on here to gauge people's thoughts on the name as we're not telling people in RL until DD arrives. Thank you.

Yes i think its lovely. Pretty elegant strong classy. Suits all ages and is not overly popular.

I absolutely love it! Might have had it on my list if friends hadn't used it for their daughter shortly before I got pregnant with our first.

Love, love, LOVE it!!! If we had had a DD, she would have been called Georgia. Three DS's here grin

The test for me is if I would want to be called it as an adult and I would love to be called Georgia! Go for it, OP!

I do like it, but it sounds like George when you say 'Georgia's teddy' etc. It's only a small consideration, but one I wouldn't have noticed before meeting one IRL.

I love it. My husband didn't or one of mine would have been Georgia

RockyBird Fri 12-May-17 10:33:30

I think it's great.

Snap8TheCat Fri 12-May-17 10:34:07

Love it too! Was on our list if DS1 was a girl.

mintich Fri 12-May-17 10:35:16

Love that name! Classy name that works equally well for children and adults

Piratesandpants Fri 12-May-17 10:39:57

No sorry, it's the double 'g' sound I really don't like.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles Fri 12-May-17 10:47:17

Yes like Georgia and how nice you and DP already agree on a name smile. Although the Georgia I know is always shortened to Georgie.

Popskipiekin Fri 12-May-17 10:51:28

Classy name. A cousin now grown up has suited the name from baby to adulthood and hasn't ever met another Georgia as far as I know.

onemumtwocountries Fri 12-May-17 10:52:04

Love it! Would have been on our list but there's one in the immediate family.

Dozer Fri 12-May-17 10:52:11

I like it.

SleepFreeZone Fri 12-May-17 10:52:52

Yes it was my top choice but unfortunately I lost my little girl in pregnancy.

user1494533866 Fri 12-May-17 10:53:14

No, sorry. I think it's frumpy.

zeeboo Fri 12-May-17 10:53:55

No, I dislike it I'm afraid and most of the ones I know are from unpleasant families.

PippaFawcett Fri 12-May-17 10:54:36

Sleep, I'm so sorry to hear that.

Iwasjustabouttosaythat Fri 12-May-17 10:54:53

I like it but not Georgie. But I love George for a girl too.

SleepFreeZone Fri 12-May-17 11:02:17

It's fine as I went on to have my wonderful second DS 💗

My top girls names were Georgia, Harriet and Charlotte (this was before the royal Charlotte was born!)

Vagndidit Fri 12-May-17 11:06:17

Not my style. But I'm American and immediately connect it to "the State of..." And all its twangyness. Sorry.

GrouchyKiwi Fri 12-May-17 11:10:41

I love it. Would have liked to call one of our daughters Georgia but DH doesn't like it.

It was on my list... it would have been DD2s name if i hadn't have spotted something else 3 weeks before she was born. I liked it as I would have called her Georgie...
