Slightly unusual boys names with great nicknames?

Hello, we have a son Raphael, known as Raffy or Rafe. We chose the name partly because we loved all the different nicknames.
If the next baby is a boy, I'm really having trouble thinking of any names.
I'd like something else a little unusual but doesn't have to be incredibly rare. And a good nickname (but not a very common one like Nick, Ben, Ali, Ed).
Names I might quite like are Rowan, Tristan, Leander, Griffin if that gives an idea of style.
Bonus points if it's Hebrew or Irish in origin.
Thank you!

I love Addy.. Jet is a bit try hard imo and it doesn't go with Rafe I'm wondering why it's not spelt Raph love Rafe by the way really cool name

Jude and Ezra also made our shortlist (we wanted a Hebrew name too)

We settled on Jasper Malachi

He goes by Jazz or Jazz-man most days grin

JessKM,
I like Jazz that's a very catchy name .
Not that far off from my choice of Jet.
😀

JessKM Fri 12-May-17 00:23:07

We never intended him to be a Jazz, more of a jasp but it caught on and he suits it 😂

Jett is lovely too, Hebrew but has a lovely modern ring to it!!!

DD has a little girl in her class called Acelynn which is shortened to Ace which I ADORE. Ace and Jett would be such a cool pair!!!!!

OkPedro Fri 12-May-17 00:27:25

Is Acelynn a made up name? Sounds like the Irish name Aisling or Ashlinn

Gbean Fri 12-May-17 00:27:58

Christopher - Kit

JessKM Fri 12-May-17 00:30:44

okpedro I don't know, I've never heard of it before meeting this child. She suits it too. It's deffo spelled Acelynn as its in DDs birthday card.

I asked because I'm not familiar with Hebrew names so didn't want to offend anyone if it was a hebrew name. Thanks jess

I like Xander (pronounced Zander) for Alexander. Apparently that's what Alexander Armstrong goes by.

Kit for Christopher is also cool, popularised by Kit Harrington.

A friend has Malachy (not Malach- EYE, Malachee), shortened to Mally, which I like.

MommaGee Fri 12-May-17 01:25:03

Izekiel shortened to Zeke? Izzy?

Zachariah? Zach, Uriah?

Love Ace and Jett grin
