Can anyone tell me what moretonhamstead is like? I have seen a great house there but don't know the area. Is it friendly? Good transport links, groups and things to join? Thanks.

Oh thank goodness, I thought you were going for the longest baby name ever grin

Sorry, I don't know Devon <unhelpful>

Came on because you've posted this in baby names and I thought you were considering it for your child!

Came rushing on to slap you into reality!

Moretonhamstead May is nice for a girl

I don't normally come on the baby name thread but was so intrigued by this potential baby name that I had to have a look grin

More Ham would be such a cute nickname

TinyRick Mon 08-May-17 12:22:31

For a boy or a girl, OP?

I see it as more of a masculine name.

Wowser nails it

It needs hyphenating and May updating.

Insist on using the full name, no nicknames.

Having holidayed near there last year, my comment on transport links is that the A road to Bovey Tracey is a nightmare. Lots of long single track sections with no passing places, made even more fun by farm vehicles doing strange things.

Lovely part of the world though.

As a name, it'd be for a boy, and better as first and middle. Moreton Hampstead. Please note conventional spelling has a 'p', if you omit that the poor child will forever be having to correct people.

You don't think Basingstoke has a better ring to it?

With Biggleswade for a future sibling.

(I don't know Devon either, sorry, but I hope it all works out well for you.)

WowserBowser Mon 08-May-17 12:59:17

Bovey Tracey has a nice ring to it. Although a bit 80s.

CricketRuntAndRashers Mon 08-May-17 16:16:23

Well, I know to sisters with middle names Pleasant Grove and Bountiful.

So... Uhm. Anyhow. I am rather relieved that this isn't a thread about a baby name. Poor boy (it does sound a bit masculine, doesn't it?)

MrsMoastyToasty Mon 08-May-17 16:19:36

Kirkby Lonsdale for a boy or Ryme Intrinseca for a girl.

I thought you were obsessed with the lead singer of Aha but didn't want to copy his name comptely for your baby son.

P1nkP0ppy Mon 08-May-17 16:23:07

I quite like Piddle Hinton myself, seems reasonably apt for a baby boy perhaps?
Worth Matravers has a certain ring to it for a girl.

MarilynWhirlwindRocks Mon 08-May-17 16:46:13

You lot are wonderful! grin

Thanks for the much-needed laugh.

ProseccoBitch Mon 08-May-17 16:54:05
