I did not know this was a name - I don't really like it for that reason.

AlwaysTheWinner Tue 25-Apr-17 23:11:51

It's a dance, not a name!

Justmuddlingalong Tue 25-Apr-17 23:13:42

As an alternative to Kayleigh? No, it's ridiculous IMO.

Spudlet Tue 25-Apr-17 23:13:51

Excellent for a party. Not so much for a name.

quinoabeanwah Tue 25-Apr-17 23:13:51

Really no.

C0untDucku1a Tue 25-Apr-17 23:14:17

Is it a name?

HirplesWithHaggis Tue 25-Apr-17 23:14:50

How about Rave? Or DanceParty?

Sorrry, OP, but no.

Heratnumber7 Tue 25-Apr-17 23:16:03

Do you mean Elidh? (Pronounced Ailie)

ICJump Tue 25-Apr-17 23:16:06

I'm an Aussie and even I know it's a Scottish dance

ToDuk Tue 25-Apr-17 23:16:36

Will a potenti subsequent sibling be called Disco? Or maybe Barn-Dance?

Paninotogo Tue 25-Apr-17 23:18:55

Eilidh is lovely, Ceilidh/Kayleigh is a bit 1980s.

OublietteBravo Tue 25-Apr-17 23:21:09

It's a better spelling of Kayleigh than Keighley which is definitely pronounced Keith-Lee if you come from my part of the country

DramaAlpaca Tue 25-Apr-17 23:24:02

My opinion is that it's not a name hmm

Deux Tue 25-Apr-17 23:24:47

Don't be daft. But you could call siblings Pipe and Drum.

Kayleigh if you like how it sounds.

I can only assume your being flooded with hormones and not thinking straight .

GeorgesDay Tue 25-Apr-17 23:25:23

Oh? blush is it not the original spelling of Kayleigh?

OuchLegoHurts Tue 25-Apr-17 23:28:10

No it means an Irish or Scottish dance party!

Sunbeam18 Tue 25-Apr-17 23:28:26

Hilarious!

foundaspottysock Tue 25-Apr-17 23:28:45

I hadn't noticed this was in baby names and was going to reply to say yes great fun at weddings!

MrsJayy Tue 25-Apr-17 23:29:41

No lovey it means gathering in Gaelic dont call her that . I actually like Kaleigh or Callie

GeorgesDay Tue 25-Apr-17 23:29:41

Lmao, that's embarrassing. Forget this!

Opinions on Kayleigh then please smile

Deux Tue 25-Apr-17 23:30:05

See, pregnancy hormones. Does strange things.

Lochan Tue 25-Apr-17 23:31:03

Please don't call your child ceilidh unless you want her to encounter Scots going confused for the rest of her life.

Eilidh however is a gorgeous name.

Copperas Tue 25-Apr-17 23:31:05

Very dated

Lochan Tue 25-Apr-17 23:31:56

Cross post- Kayleigh is fine.
