Hayley is still sweet in sound and it's not over popular.

IMO yes it is dated - in the same bracket as Mandy, Lisa, Tracy...70's...

There was a hayley in my class in primary school in the 90s, she was a lovely girl.

Most of the hayleys I know now are around the same age as me (mid 20s) so I don't think it's too dated.

It is a very pretty name though imo.

Yes, it's dated.

Plus, I can't stand it. My life in high school was made a living hell by a fucking miserable git cow person named Hayley.

I don't think it's dated: it is still quite a popular name in the US with the spelling Haillie.

It's nice but the pp was right - it's very much in the Karen, Lisa, Julie mode.

I'm sure there are many lovely Hayleys. But the only Hayleys I've ever met weren't...
And it's really dated imo.

This is my name, although spelt differently. It does have a certain class connotation tbh. I don't know about dated - it is here but still popular in America I think so that may fade, as may the class association. On the bright side if you use it now your daughter won't spend her life faking a laugh at shit jokes about comets...
