Hi all just wanted your thoughts on the name Frank, it was my grandfathers name and he was a great man!!
I would really like to name our baby Frank if we have a boy. Do you think it is to old fashioned for today's youth.

I think Frankie is better. A cute baby named Frank just doesn't seem right.

Lovely reason to name him Frank. I know of a Frankie which is a modern twist, or could be a nickname?

I love it, actually.

I absolutely love it. It's strong and masculine!

I like Frank, you can always call him Frankie if you want but Frank as a name is better. Do it!

Frank is great! I reckon it's poised for a comeback anyway.

I like it and I know a very cute baby Frank. I think it might become quite popular over the next few years, so you probably need to consider whether you would mind.

Great name. I remember a baby Frank when my children were tiny. He must be about 22 now. I was a bit taken aback the first time I heard it but it grew on me.

Love it, was my grandad's name too ☺️

Go for it! NN Frankie if you want when he's younger bit don't put that on birth certificate, it's too babyish for an adult.

It's good. Makes me think of Frank Gardner, the journalist/correspondent. You could always christen him Francis but just Frank is fine.

EsmesBees · 17/04/2017 19:56

I like it too. Prefer it as a nickname for Francis.

DramaAlpaca · 17/04/2017 19:57

I don't like it at all, sorry, but I'm not generally a fan of grandad/granny names. But if you like it, that's all that matters.

Ds1 is called Frank. We call him Frank, Franco or Frankie. We had a few raised eyebrows when he was a newborn but he's nearly 7 now and it really suits him. Go for it!

SuperBeagle · 17/04/2017 21:43

I'm not a fan. It sounds quite harsh to me.

I like Frank but really don't like Frankie.
