Hi all just wanted your thoughts on the name Frank, it was my grandfathers name and he was a great man!!
I would really like to name our baby Frank if we have a boy. Do you think it is to old fashioned for today's youth.

I think Frankie is better. A cute baby named Frank just doesn't seem right.

Lovely reason to name him Frank. I know of a Frankie which is a modern twist, or could be a nickname?

PsammeadPaintedTheLion Mon 17-Apr-17 17:10:17

I love it, actually.

wooster16 Mon 17-Apr-17 17:10:46

I absolutely love it. It's strong and masculine!

Rockaby Mon 17-Apr-17 17:18:43

I love Francis with nn Frank. One of my favourite boy names!

Sophronia Mon 17-Apr-17 17:19:52

I like it! Would probably put Francis on the bc though.

CaipirinhasAllRound Mon 17-Apr-17 17:33:42

I like Frank, you can always call him Frankie if you want but Frank as a name is better. Do it!

Jooni Mon 17-Apr-17 17:49:27

Frank is great! I reckon it's poised for a comeback anyway.

YouBloodyWhat Mon 17-Apr-17 18:00:13

I like it a lot! I think it's so cute on a little boy!

Don't like Francis or Frankie though confused

SimplyNigella Mon 17-Apr-17 18:05:17

I like it and I know a very cute baby Frank. I think it might become quite popular over the next few years, so you probably need to consider whether you would mind.

Great name. I remember a baby Frank when my children were tiny. He must be about 22 now. I was a bit taken aback the first time I heard it but it grew on me.

Mamma2missEvie Mon 17-Apr-17 19:32:29

Lovely name, I know a Franklin who gets called Frankie most of the time x

BelleEsme Mon 17-Apr-17 19:35:23

Love it, was my grandad's name too ☺️

SquedgieBeckenheim Mon 17-Apr-17 19:36:31

Go for it! NN Frankie if you want when he's younger bit don't put that on birth certificate, it's too babyish for an adult.

FeedTheSharkAndItWIllBite Mon 17-Apr-17 19:40:52

Love it.

Sugarpiehoneyeye Mon 17-Apr-17 19:43:28

Fantastic name 😄

MikeUniformMike Mon 17-Apr-17 19:53:52

It's good. Makes me think of Frank Gardner, the journalist/correspondent. You could always christen him Francis but just Frank is fine.

EsmesBees Mon 17-Apr-17 19:56:27

I like it too. Prefer it as a nickname for Francis.

DramaAlpaca Mon 17-Apr-17 19:57:16

I don't like it at all, sorry, but I'm not generally a fan of grandad/granny names. But if you like it, that's all that matters.

tankflybosswalkjamnittygritty Mon 17-Apr-17 20:02:24

Ds1 is called Frank. We call him Frank, Franco or Frankie. We had a few raised eyebrows when he was a newborn but he's nearly 7 now and it really suits him. Go for it!

SuperBeagle Mon 17-Apr-17 21:43:09

I'm not a fan. It sounds quite harsh to me.

BadToTheBone Mon 17-Apr-17 21:46:00

I like Frank but really don't like Frankie.

Mrsknackered Mon 17-Apr-17 22:13:46

I love Frank/Frankie/Franklin

Swearwolf Mon 17-Apr-17 22:20:15

Do it! I have a Frank short for Franklin and it's an awesome name. Always got lots of positive comments!
