We are thinking of calling our son Rock, what are your thoughts?

changename7 Mon 17-Apr-17 16:47:31

Maybe Rocco or even Rocky. Please not rock.

Awwlookatmybabyspider Mon 17-Apr-17 16:48:02

Agree with pp

FishInAWetSuitAndFlippers Mon 17-Apr-17 16:48:27

Rocco is nice.

Rock, not so much.

Wolfiefan Mon 17-Apr-17 16:49:09

Only if you have triplets.

SheldonsSpot Mon 17-Apr-17 16:49:37

Only if his brother is going to be Stone.

Ferlander Mon 17-Apr-17 16:49:51

Nope no and nope again. Rock or Rocky sounds awful, unless you can guarantee stardom later in life.

Rocco is fine.

TinfoilHattie Mon 17-Apr-17 16:51:05

Great, if your surname is Flintstone.

Please don't.

PurpleDaisies Mon 17-Apr-17 16:51:28

It's awful.

LadyMonicaBaddingham Mon 17-Apr-17 16:52:34

Rock Hudson's given name was Roy. You could use it as a nn for a different R-name (Rory?) but please don't inflict it on the birth certificate

DPotter Mon 17-Apr-17 16:53:02

Please please don't.
If you're in to things geological how about Tor?

Gallavich Mon 17-Apr-17 16:53:42

You can't do that!

Chottie Mon 17-Apr-17 16:53:42

Please no x 1 zillion times.

It sounds like Barney Rubble's brother.

YoungYolandaYorgensen39 Mon 17-Apr-17 16:55:04

He'll need a sister called Roll.

I agree with the suggestions of Rocco.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup Mon 17-Apr-17 16:56:02

Yes Rocco is lovely!

CuppaTeaTeddy Mon 17-Apr-17 16:56:56

Was this a serious suggestion? Can we hear the other names on your list?

user714205 Mon 17-Apr-17 16:57:11

Ha, I agree with you ladies but my husband made me post that pretending it was my choice too so you would be more sympathetic....anyway thanks, it's definitely backed up my argument!!

HoratioNightboy Mon 17-Apr-17 16:59:08

There are a few in the Scottish records. My favourite is Rock Crumble - please use that as a middle name!

TheHodgeoftheHedge Mon 17-Apr-17 17:02:15

He'll have people teasing him for the whole of his life about if they can smell what he's cooking ;)

Reow Mon 17-Apr-17 17:03:54

He might end up with fifty bentleys in the West Indies

harderandharder2breathe Mon 17-Apr-17 17:43:04

No no no

Glad at least one of the child's parents can see sense!

Rockaby Mon 17-Apr-17 17:55:19

It doesn't matter though, does it reow (arf)? Sorry, I need to get a life!

I like Rocco a lot and Rock could be a nice nn for Rory as suggested by pp.

Flint is another possibility maybe? Not my personal favourite but still, it's an option.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Mon 17-Apr-17 18:06:25

Freddie Flintoff has a Rocky.

I think there are better names out there.

Gaaaah Mon 17-Apr-17 18:10:31

Personally, I think Brick is better. Or perhaps Slab...hmm.

memyselfandaye Mon 17-Apr-17 18:11:34

It sounds like a name for a pit bull.
