Hit me with your opinions. Its already set but we may change if consensus is poor!!

Heratnumber7 Sat 08-Apr-17 18:16:33

No. Too twee for me.

JoandMax Sat 08-Apr-17 18:16:50

I really like Dulcie but not keen on the Mae addition.....

But if you love it go for it!

IncidentalAnarchist Sat 08-Apr-17 18:17:03

Personal hatred of -Mai as it seems every other girl has it. Yuck.
Like Dulcie though!

reallyanotherone Sat 08-Apr-17 18:18:29

I like it.

I wouldn't hyphenate though. Name-mae is everywhere these days, tilly-mae, gracie-mae, or some version.

Dulcie is nice on it's own, with mae as a middle name. You can still call her dulcie mae if you want.

Redyellowpinkblue Sat 08-Apr-17 18:18:51

Dulcie on its own is lovely, adding Mae ruins it for me. Especially the quirky spelling that seems to be so fashionable hmm
But Dulcie on its own is a really lovely name!

Queensparkles Sat 08-Apr-17 18:21:31

Reminds me of dulce et decorum est

Cynara Sat 08-Apr-17 18:22:07

Agree with pp about Dulcie being nice but Mae being both twee and ubiquitous.

Heratnumber7 Sat 08-Apr-17 18:22:10

May is nicer than May IMO. But I'd also lose the hyphen

Plaintalkin Sat 08-Apr-17 18:23:01

Not for me I'm afraid.

namechange20050 Sat 08-Apr-17 18:23:15

Awful. Sorry op. Imagine being a grown woman called that confused

Tobolsk Sat 08-Apr-17 18:23:47

I prefer Katie-mae

Haffdonga Sat 08-Apr-17 18:26:28

Anything-Mae is very unpopular on MN.
Anything with a hyphen is very unpopular on MN.
So it will be a Big Fat No.

if you like it don't ask here if you don't want to hear negative opinions.

PotteringAlong Sat 08-Apr-17 18:28:19

Dulcie is lovely. Stick with that.

Sophronia Sat 08-Apr-17 18:30:10

I'd lose the -Mae part.

youarenotkiddingme Sat 08-Apr-17 18:30:10

I like May as a middle name but not Mae or hyphenated.

Dulcie is ok - prefer Darcy/Darcie myself though.

yesnowplease Sat 08-Apr-17 18:30:37

As with the others, the adding of Mae/May/Mai ruins the name. Otherwise it's nice.

Oysterbabe Sat 08-Apr-17 18:32:31

Hate all hyphens but Mae is one of the worst. Dulcie is nice though.

BertrandRussell Sat 08-Apr-17 18:34:34

Stop thinking of her as a baby. Think of her as a dumpy teenager not yet grown into her looks. A kick ass criminal barrister. An MP. A mechanic. An elegant old lady.

ApocalypseNowt Sat 08-Apr-17 18:34:56

Sorry, not keen on either OP.

BertrandRussell Sat 08-Apr-17 18:35:28

And Dulcie means sweet. What sort of a name is that for a woman facing the world?

troodiedoo Sat 08-Apr-17 18:38:00

It's a no from me sorry. Sounds like a fancy cheese.

relaxo Sat 08-Apr-17 18:38:02

Agree with ditching the -Mae

Dulcie on its own is much better.

CactusFred Sat 08-Apr-17 18:40:36

Dulcimer is nice - I had a great aunt with this name!

Mae is nice on its own but far too naff when tagged on as double barrelled- Lily-Mae, Ellie-May etc

CactusFred Sat 08-Apr-17 18:41:03

Ffs autocorrect Dulcimer is not a nice name lol
