Currently our favourite boys name. We wouldn't name him something longer just to shorten it
What do you think?

Fussy Gussy.
I think it used to be a brand of fish food too.

Lord, no.

He'll become Gus-set as soon as some little toerag wag discovers such things exist.

I think it might be because of Agustus Gloop in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory...

I love Angus and Gus. I did worry about Gus sounding too like 'guff' so ended up not using it myself.

What do you think of Gabe / Gabriel ?

CactusFred · 07/04/2017 21:30

I like it.

I remember it being used in Queer as Folk USA as the baby's name in that. Really cute.

I love it. I grew up with a Gus and in all the years I've known him he's never been given a daft nickname or been teased because of his name - he always just gets called Gus.

I prefer Augustus with Gus as a nickname (or Auggie!) but Gus is nice on its own too.

It's not a pretty name and reminds me of a chubby boy eating loads of food with his hands.

Odd, but true.

I don't mind it, but prefer it as a nickname for something longer. I love August with the nickname Gus, for example.

I like it!
I like Angus and Guy too.
