Lottapianos Fri 07-Apr-17 16:37:19

I know a Danica. She's lovely but i have to say I'm not wild about her name smile

Sugarpiehoneyeye Fri 07-Apr-17 17:23:03

I love the name Danica, it's beautiful.

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen Fri 07-Apr-17 17:23:42

WindwardCircle Fri 07-Apr-17 17:25:25

I really like it. Unusual without being out there.

user1483387154 Fri 07-Apr-17 17:30:06

It's ok. No strong feeling either way about it.

nursebickypegs Fri 07-Apr-17 17:31:14

I know a Danica, and I jokingly call her Dance-e-ah as I'm a meanie wink

TinfoilHattie Fri 07-Apr-17 17:38:43

It's a good choice - unusual but not WTF weird.

I quite like Monica too.

choli Fri 07-Apr-17 17:40:12

The only Danica I have heard of is the porn star who was involved with Josh Duggar.

ChippieFishieHorshie Fri 07-Apr-17 17:40:42

Why not?

I prefer Davina, but Danica is a normal name imo.

LynetteScavo Fri 07-Apr-17 17:45:03

It's not my cup of tea.

mowgeli Fri 07-Apr-17 17:45:35

I know a girl called Danika she was from South Africa it might be a common name there

Mrsknackered Fri 07-Apr-17 17:46:18

I know two, one being Dan-i-Ka and the other Da-nee-ka, assuming hoping you're using the first pronunciation smile

Reow Fri 07-Apr-17 17:47:49

Hmm, I'm not keen. It sounds very 80's pop singer to me for some reason. Was there a Danita?

I tend to not like 80's names, and I have one grin

babynelly2010 Fri 07-Apr-17 20:08:58

Interesting, some things I did not know about. I like the meaning, the morning star or venus. I also like short nickname Dani.
Much to think about, thank you.

VimFuego101 Fri 07-Apr-17 20:12:31

I like it. It's fairly common in Australia.

buttercup54321 Fri 07-Apr-17 21:06:44

Don't like it. Much prefer Danielle.

CrumpettyTree Fri 07-Apr-17 21:08:30

Love

BattleaxeGalactica Fri 07-Apr-17 21:14:38

I associate it with the one on CBB who 'rinsed' blokes for expensive tat trinkets. How about Anneka?

babynelly2010 Fri 07-Apr-17 21:29:08

Can't do Danielle, my sister named her daughter that. After they shared they names before their daughter was born I told them that I loved their name as it starts with letter D and that it reminds of a name that we picked out for our last baby if it was a girl. It was a boy and seriously I did not think we will have another.
Now dd's due date is tomorrow and we got no creative ideas but this...
Another one I like is Milana, you may notice eastern European/ Slovakian trend, but dh is against it all though he loves Mila. But I would like a longer name with nickname like Danica with Dani. My sister does not call her daughter Dani.
Oh the naming dilemma!

CrumpettyTree Fri 07-Apr-17 21:41:12

I was thinking there was one in Girl with a Pearl Earring but that was Tanneke

SuperBeagle Fri 07-Apr-17 22:01:15

I prefer just Dana. smile

SuperBeagle Fri 07-Apr-17 22:02:13

If you want an Eastern European name that starts with D, how about Dasha? It's the Russian short form of Daria/Darya.

Sophronia Fri 07-Apr-17 22:21:03

I like it. The meaning is lovely (morning star).

babynelly2010 Fri 07-Apr-17 22:44:10

I like daria with short dasha but i've been reminded few times by my russian friends that Daria sounds like diarrhoea hmm
