No. It sounds like a town in Ireland

Well where do the black people go then? I do love a bit of segregation Hmm

I can't say it struck me as a 'name that sounds black' Confused
I just don't particularly like it.
Sorry OP. If you love it though then go for it! Smile

Daisy this is the worst part of mn. It shows alot of racism and classism. Just look through it.
I wouldn't ever ask advice on this thread as its not representative for me.

What GuinnessPunch said I think was sarky aimed at those who quite often comment on names that are used more by those with ethnic backgrounds.
'Blacks' can come here, bloody ridiculous. Some people can be very narrow minded and not open to other cultures (and what they call their children)
I personally like Tyrese but I love Ty/Tye on its own more.

I like Tyrese, if you like it then go for it.

Reminds me of the gorgeous male supermodel of the same name.

GuinessPunch very true. I can't stand the 'naughty' name thing Hmm

Mrsknackered · 07/04/2017 15:54

Mitzy do you mean Tyson Beckford? Because he has been my crush for a very, very long time!

Report
MitzyLeFrouf · 07/04/2017 15:55

Oh actually, Tyson Beckford was the model I was thinking of. Tyrese was the name of another male model who was perfectly attractive just not Tyson Beckford levels of gorgeous Grin

Do you like the shortened possibilities? Because longer names usually do get shortened (and conversely shorter ones, lengthened!)

Congratulations btw Flowers!

Tyrese is the singer.
Ty is a good option.

I really like the nickname Ty.

I never thought it could be short for Tyrese (haven't heard of that name up to now). But why not? The only issue I have is that the name sounds imo quite feminine.

Congratulations :)!

I don't mind Tyrese, but I do love Ty as a nn Smile

It's unusual but I like it. A friend called her little boy Tylan & he gets Ty for short. Cute.

Fine. I've known a couple of Tyreses and they were decent sorts. They were (and still are, presumably) black. I've also known black lads called Charles, Simon, Robert etc - names don't have to belong to particular ethnic groups, do they? There are some names I associate with naughty pupils, but Tyrese isn't one of them.

Tyrese from the Walking Dead was super cool, so I'm okay with it.

I also think Tyrese from The Walking Dead. He was a good character so I feel warmly about the name by association.
